Re: LN107 Clutch issue

Righto. Man at Toyota said yup, got a single mass flywheel and clutch that will bolt right in no problems. Even comes with the different bolts required to mount the flywheel. Here's hoping he knows what he is talking about - my biggest concern is as shown below https://lh5.googleusercontent.com ...

Re: LN107 Clutch issue

Yeah unsure of what the flywheels are off - to quote a wrecker on an auction site: Do you have a dualmass or solid flywheel for a 3L engine? If dualmass, what conditon are the springs and plastic keepers in? If solid, what size is it? Cheers. dual mass are rubbish i just throw them in the bin, have ...

LN107 Clutch issue

Quick background. 92 Hilux, daily driver. LN107 with 3L manual. Jap import, IFS. Dual mass flywheel has thrown a spring. Currently have the engine hanging by a thread in my shed. It looks like a billion dollars to replace the dual mass one, so solid flywheel looks the way to go. Research shows that ...

Re: Kill Switch?

Set up a way of locking your wheels to your driveway? i.e. have a big screw in 'eye' on one side of the driveway, and slip some chain through the wheel, and back to the eye, and padlock it? Or a pole set in the ground next to the driveway could work - or even a fencepost? May be easier than ...

Re: Kill Switch?

i reckon putting a padlock or similar through your handbrake lever is the go kills to birds with one stone. That's not a bad idea at all - even the traditional dash-board style 'turn-and-push' would be fairly easy with a sleeve the length of the shaft that could be locked around it once engaged ...

Re: surf double battery replacment?

I wouldn't use a VSR with a winch, as full winch load (300+amps) can be drawn through the VSR. from 1 battery to the other as they try and exqualise. this = melted VSR or Winch or Battery or All. BEP Marine (a Kiwi company in Auckland) make a VSR they call a "Voltage Sensitive Battery Switch" http ...

Our Singaporean friends are over at the moment with their big guns - 155mm self propelled, and the Primus SP1 - 155mm tracked artillerly piece - can fire 7 rounds and have them all land on the same target at the same time - now there's a clever cannon.

Yup, you read right. We're after a low pressure stainless cylinder with wetback fittings. It's no drama if the element doesn't work any more as there is no power anyway. Size is of no real concern either, although an industrial size one would probably not fit in the small hut. It really does need to ...
