Mazda Proceed - needs a larger tank...
I`ve recently brought a Proceed Marvie (stop laughing) for camping type 4wd trips and to tow trailers/collect firewood etc. It`s never going to have any more than <say> 31"s on it, but it does have a safari snorkel, Runva 8k winch and is generally a handy thing. Only problem with it is the pathetic ...

Hence I need a 4wd ...

Tyres for Bighorn - 265/75R16s
Looking for some advice on tyres. I’m after a set of 265/75R16 mud terrains for my Isuzu (Bighorn). I know they’ll fit fine as I’ve had the same size in a BFG MT on a previous Isuzu. Trying to decide between GT Adventuros at $290 a corner, Kumho KL71s at $325 a corner or Bridgestone Dueler D673 MT`s ...

Gearbox help
Quick question for all the Cruiser experts on here. My landy has a B Diesel in it, with a 5-speed box behind it. The box has the vacuum actuated transfer case. Anyone know a) what model cruiser this came out of, and b) if a 3B will bolt up to it? The old lump is a bit tired, and more power is always ...

Snow Chains 265/75 R16,32x11.5 R15 - 4.5mm Y Pattern
I`ve got these on trademe, but would be happy to sell on here and avoid the rip-off success fees. Brought three years ago, and only used a few times on skifield access roads (in some decent blizzards though) - give great traction and fit up in a minute or so. The links are 4.5mm by my callipers, and ...

Terrano TD27T Clutch Replacement help?
Hi there, I~ve just brought a 1992 Terrano with the TD27T motor and the 5-speed, for an awesome price ($450 and WOF, REGO and RUC) knowing full well that the clutch needs doing. I`ve got a few questions for some of the more mechanically minded people on here: 1. Is pulling the motor is the easiest ...

Re: Questions about Road User Charges / RUC
Sorry I have to say I don`t see what people are whining about... If you're complaining that they`re too high, yet your mates rip the system off (meaning we all pay more) who`s fault is that? It`s also irrelevant how RUC relates to fuel consumption - it`s calculated on a pavement wear factor ...

Re: 7.50x16`s on Terrano?
Thanks for the advice, Mike, I`ve already independantly came to the same conclusion. I took the terrano out for a bit of a run today - comparing stock with stock the landy thrashes it offroad, so I might just put some all terrains on the terrano, as I don`t see the point in spending big dollars to ...

7.50x16`s on Terrano?
Hi people - I`ve just a brought a 1992 Terrano as a cheap hack to run into the ground while I tidy my old Landy up - its not a bad truck, just a bit low, long and bouncy for my liking... like a car after the landy though. It has a set of okay 30x9.5 15 RMT`s on it, but i`d like to run the 7.50x16 ...

Re: Why are we still paying so much for fuel?
If we made trucking pay the full costs involved in their use of the road / state highway network I can tell you that the difference in cost would be negligible, and likely in favour of rail. Given the ability to electrify the main trunk, and likely future increases in fossil fuel costs and supply ...

Re: Why are we still paying so much for fuel?
Heres some facts for you. We don't actually collect enough revenue from roading to maintain our current rate of spend on our asset. Trucks are not currently charged for the actual degradation they cause our highways / roads and are in fact subsidised by other road users. Trucking in this country is ...
