Re: 302 windsor into a 92 Surf...
you would be better off putting a straight 6 in it with a 12 port optimised head (yella tera) and a big fat turbo... will drink just as much gas as a 302 and destroy all the drivetrain you can feed it........ Yeah if you want to remove the firewall to fit it in, and sit in the backseat Or totally ...

Re: 3B 70 series auto trans Question
No you are thinking of a 1KZ i think
A 1PZ is the same as a 1HZ 4.2 just with 1 less cylinder making it 3.5L 5 cylinder.
Can't use a prado auto because i'm running a pto winch so want an auto with a split transfer case from a cruiser.

Re: Waitawheta "Mudzilla's favorite track"
3 trucks from the Hawkes Bay went up there at labour weekend and went for a leisurely 20hour drive around Waitawheta . We went to the deep creek crossing on the low road of the access track then straight out of the creek we turned left and went up there which i think is a little longer. Had lunch at ...

1KZ-TE Fuel pump map sensor & computer
I'v got a complete fuel pump and map sensor and computer and engine bay wiring loom out of a manual KZN185 Surf if anyone needs any of those bits. $200 for the pump and $100 each for the map sensor and computer. I brought a complete engine for a repower and didn't use these bits. I'm in Napier. PM me.

Re: how safe is boost
A good peice of preventitive maintanence on these engines is to drop the pants off them and replace the bigend bearings which is a quick and relatively cheap job especially if running more fuel and boost... It will greatly extend the life of an otherwise excellent engine If your engine is getting up ...

ok yep thanx, that sounds like the logical way. I guess i would need some of the loom as well that runs from the computer down to the gearbox? Its got a five pin plug on it. I know the type of computer you mean, i've seen it up under the dash on my 70# cruiser. 1 of my mates wrecks surfs and i ...

LN130 transfer question...
Evening all... I've got an LN65 which i've repowered with a 1Kz and R150 from an LN130 with the push button electric 4WD and the little electric motor on the rear of the transfer. My question is how do i power this thing up and make it work? Is it on a timed relay type system similar to a toyota ...
Re: 1KZ-TE
No worries. We just cut off the old mounts and moved them back, but you dont have to be to fussy with cutting them off tidy cos the mounts on the 1KZ are alot wider and you will end up with the base plate nearly out to the chassis if you know what i mean... The only issue i'v had so far is that how ...
