Re: Fitting Auto Trans Cooler to 80 Series Landcruiser

Take care that your cooler is large enough as most aftermarket ones are smaller than the factory cooler on the bottom of the radiator and cause your trans to run hotter rather than cooler. I put 1 on mine but used factory one as well then when I replaced radiator with new one (used manual 1 as ...

Bummer I chucked a 106 front housing in the scap metal the other week. it had good chrome balls just had a slight bend from when the truck was rolled. I've got a couple of good ones but would have to charge you for one of them.

Re: Wanted rear surf LSD

282 means you have 4.3 ratio 2 spider (non LSD) diffs.
Surf front diffs are F series and smaller than the rear (G series) so no not interchangeable, hilux's have solid front axle and the same sized diff heads front and rear.
I have a good 4.3 LSD for the rear of your surf. $300

Hey yep got a couple of them, what ratio are you after? check your axle code on the ID plate, it will be G254 or G282 or similar, this will tell us the ratio.

Hi Nick, they came out of a 78 series (LWB) prado 1990-95 (as you saw when we took them out), I would have thought they would have fitted your 71 series 1985-89 but as we discussed there are a surprising number of differences between the two models. I'm sad to hear they don't fit, if you want to ...

Hi strip it again and check the seals are on correctly is the first thing I'd do. Also check the axle seal and wear on the axle where the seal sits as if diff oil is coming thru into the hub it will make the problem worse, the hub is only supposed to be full of grease and the seal on the ball does ...
