Re: convert surf 87 rear leafs to springs

Get 2 inch raised springs, or resets, wind front torsion bars up, bingo 2 inch lift all round, fit 33's, trim guards, drive.

Seriously man, just have a search on here, its been done, its easy to do.

What rangimotors is saying is, you cant get anymore lift that 1.5inches from your current front end... Do a site search and all will be revealed.

Look at it this way, $130 to fix radiator, or $1500 to replace cooked motor.

No as true as you may think. Id be more worried about end float than anything else. You will know if the wheels are hitting the housings, it will either be screaming, or have been screaming and worn the wheels away resulting in no power.

To be honest, i wouldnt bother checking it, its bound to have play in it and then youll just have somthing else to worry about. Youll know when its given up.

Re: HELP! Cone washers

years ago I picked up a piece of about 20mm diameter alloy rod that I use as a drift (brass is probably better) place it on the end of the studs with the nuts off and smack it hard and sharp works well and is softer than the studs to doesn't damage them and doesn't damage the housing either.
