The dmax is very under rated, I know several people with them and the love the reliablity, performance and towing capability while doing it in comfort High country pest control has 2-3 and the boys thrash them, Red stag timber hunters club have them and take them places I wouldnt expect another ...

Earlier beam axle surf fits under requires some work, but just beam axle it with leafs or coils, will work out the same price, and being coils rear if you coil front like i did it will ride so much better than cart springs

Always fit diff breathers if crossing water get them high up on fire wall
And ecu position is in behind dash as far as im aware, if you get water up into it you have bigger things to worry about

All the d40s so stx rx st have same pattern, you can buy adaptor spacers to make it to the older d22/21 stud size, have seen pic from aussie of after market steelies on d40s

Keen for a real trip report over the next few months??? Might be fitting on the 1 year anniversary of the trip Was thinking I could do it week by week to make the task manageable, put in all the photos and videos and try and do some kind of route map. Will be fun to relive the adventure Yes please

I looked at putting a 1uz in my surf about 5-6 year ago when it cracked a head, was going to easy be 10k+ for conversion plus cert Looked at v6 was cheaper but bit thirster but better power Ended up putting a new head on motor. Have you thought about 1kz conversion with manual pump? Better power ...

The "day running" lights in bar would have actually been ment for park light, as when you gonfor wof there is certain rules about where you the park light must be visable and most bars blocl them

Im cruiser chassie hilux cab and motor with surf front clip told should fit re body modified hilux but now it got new rear half of chassie prob leaning scratch
