yep i would wip head off and have look at number one and then work from there as two timing up there is marks you line up ...information 2 turns off crank is one turn of the camsharft so if you got the crank at top dead center you could be a turn out so the is marks on the cranksharft and camshafts ...

sound like the fuel gone off ...it go all oily and sticks 2 the spark plugs and they stop working. the best way two cheak it is spill some on the concret and try 2 light it with a lighter if it burst in two frames is still good if it doesnt burn or burn slowley it needs changing and new plugs..as ...

I had a landcuriser that did it with 35 and spring over. cheaked tire ballance, wheel aligment ,wheelbearngs,and kingpins ,tie rods and put new steering shock on didnt stop it..I cheaked the preload on the kingpins and they need more that stoped them shacking!!!!

white smoke when cold generly means antifreeze leaking into cylinder when the engine warns up things expand an stops the leaking head gasket or crack in head. but u did say you cheaked the water level.

if fan working and engine temp seem ok but the temp gauge read different it could be electrical ! 24v do funney things when not earthed . cheak the earth between battery and cab allso cheak the connection between the 2 battery.
