I'm no expert, i was thinking of getting mine tightened too but heard it doesn't last long ...

Re: Certification for calmini kit?

theres not many around auckland I dont think, Neil was a real good guy. Hes done alot of offroad certs aswell which is good and Im sure he will tell you when you go to get your cert but he used to have a samurai with a 4age.
Apparently though most of the cost is the cert plate itself which is pricey

Re: Certification for calmini kit?

Neil Fraser in Birkenhead certed my escudo with the calmini kit+body lift. No problems at all, only my early model one wasn't fitted with a brake proportioning valve, which had to be put on after he test drove it, went back few days later he attached the plate.

Re: Where can i mount front tow hooks on escudo???

yea, just mine has the tube which is prob round 4mm wall thickness running through the whole length of the chassis tube extending about 5-10mm either side. then the steel angles 'L' piece's of steel have the diameter of the tube cut out of one of its sides and the holes for the hooks on the other ...

Re: CALMINI 3 INCH suspension lift ????

I have the calmini kit. its fantastic off road, on road it rides very very stiffly unless your loaded to hell. the height itself isnt the greatest part of the lift, instead the new front arms locate the front wheels forward in the arch a bit more to allow bigger tyres without trimming guards, also ...

Re: Where can i mount front tow hooks on escudo???

mine has a tube section put through the existing chassis tube, then, two 10mm steel angles or 'L' shaped steel pieces welded into each end the inserted tube that is about 10mm longer each side than the chassis tube, then two hooks attached on both L brackets. then you just need to weld the two tubes ...

I would guess, and its only my guess, you could get around $5k for it.
