Still making these but is slow going as very busy at work . Have to squeeze work on these in when I can . Haven`t thought about a cost as yet . Will work it out once they are made.

Hi
You mention chugging & not vibration. Does it seem like the motor is missing at the speeds you mentioned.May be electrical ,could be something as simple as a dud ht lead ,blocked air filter,spark plugs ( clean & right gap ).

Hi Steve, Yes getting the right ali might be the hard one . May be able to get it through work for a good price . Steel is more readily available & I think we have some spare floating around that thickness. Dont mind making a few extra sets but have to squezze it all in between the rest of my work ...

No prob Matt will make an extra set. Hopefully we have the material at work .will suss out tomorrow and start them next week. :wink:

Has anybody tried ball joint spacers on their surf .Seems to be quite a common mod in Aussie & USA. Suspension lift without crankin the torsion bars up to much therefore not as much harshness from changed torsion bar spring rate. Heres a link from the aussie Surf owners site. m . Hi upstream You will definately have ADD (automatic Disconecting Differential ).Basically the two front axles will be turning all the time as they are fixed to the wheel hubs .It certainly isn`t a bad idea to consider fitting manual hubs . this will stop the two shafts from turning and reduce wear ...

I got one from Kent Distributors Awhile ago ,cost from memory $70 -$80 , Its a copy not a genuine toyota part but looks & fits the same.
Braxton car lights could also be worth a try. :)

Solid axle swap, 1990 Surf ???

Hi all Out of interest , :scratch: Changing the ifs to a solid axle ,:chainsaw:,Any recomendations ,coils or leaves,what works best . I presume the welding work has to be done by a certified welder .What would be a ballpark figure to the back pocket ? Any ideas guys much appreciated. Cheers Ken

Cheers Steve I have a 2.8 non turbo motor in the surf.Ah yes Parrots down St Asaph St from memory.Definately no Lsd ,is the diff ratio for the 2.8 the same as the 2.4?The vechile is a factory 2.8 . What I realy want to do is have the mud tyres on a second set of rims & keep the AT`s for the road ...

Hi All Looking to put a set of steel rims and mud tyres on a 90 surf.I have done a 50mm suspension lift on the surf already.I`m looking to achieve more diff clearance . As I understand it the wider the tyre the higher the profile ,is this correct? How big can I go on 15" rims before needing a body ...
