Re: ZD30 CRD experiences
Almost a year to the day, I bought a 2014 Patrol ST ZD30 crd, I've owned many GQ's but no 4.2 GU's. The patrol drives mint, only ever so slightly shimmy at 100kph but I think a Ballance will sort that. My fuel usage is about 11 on open road, I haven't owned it long enough to test the fuel usage arou...

New exhaust 90 series Prado
Hey guys, I hit a rock with my Prado which has pushed out my exhaust, I'm thinking it's a good excuse to upgrade from stock. What I am after is a 2.75" or 3" exhaust from the turbo back (so including dump pipe). All I can find online is just from the end of the stock dump pipe back (and I ...

Re: New battery time?
You lot are bloody helpful.
I checked and it was just the fuse, however I've taken this opportunity to treat myself to a new one.
I see you re correct, it was on milli settings, I will try again tonight with it set on 10. If that's the case and it is just 0.05 amps then I think it's new bat time.

They dont turn off by pushing their buttons - only by closing the door. Yep there is an alarm fitted.

I've done it a few times now, it drops from 12.39v (fresh after turning it off from driving home) to 12.09 ish, but in the morning still slow to turn over - also the voltage meter on the dash drops to 8v when the Glow Plugs are glowing the next morning.

Hey guys, she's a 12v with no accessories, prtitty much a bog standard truck. Good idea about disconnecting the battery for a few days and see how she spins up. I will check that out before buying. To track down a voltage leak is that the same way I tracked down the faulty relay? Ie pull the positiv...

Re: New battery time?
Yeah it does. I however dont think its because the car is warm but because the battery has had a jolt of life -- the green "light" on the battery is pretty much always dim. Also, I had an issue with a relay to an old shitty aftermarket horn that took me a while to track down, it was consta...

New battery time?
Done a search and can't find much. The battery in my TD42 is turning over slowly when cold especially if it hasn't been used for say 2 days, but it always makes it... JUST. Is it a sign I need a new one?. Battery is about 2 years old now.

All I know is when doing the co$t calculations you need to factor in the awesome-ness that is a V8, the co$t allowance for this can only be decided by you

check this first, it will turn over like a champ (if battery and starter is good) but not fire. I had this issue, it was only a lose wire.

So I currently have a TD42 LWB Turbo that's mint as and I want to keep - and use as a tow wagon. I really want to get into 4wd'in with the mates but I don't want to smash up my current wagon. I have two options so far: Look at a samurai with an a-frame that I can town behind and can thrash while not...

Re: 7 seat diesel options
My experience with towing using a TD42 is painful as hell . Slow, having to thrash the hell out of them so high fuel usage (this is from a low genuine ks ie 180km) and thats just towing our 6m fiberglass boat. Now I own a lwb with a turbo and 8psi (light as on boost) and wow. now we are talking, I u...
