Re: Wanted: PTO in cab selector lever
Thanks to all who pm'ed me offering their spare levers and bits. I got a bee in my bonnet. I turned the garage upside down tonight and found the blasted thing in a box hidden in the corner (the safe place I put it).

Re: Supercharge TD42
Thanks for clearing that up flyingbrick. Maybe the previous owners put reduction gears in my GQ or something because in low 4 going down a steep incline I have to accelerate to move faster than a crawl, it's a strange feeling but I didn't want to lose the control it offers. Still need to give her ...

Re: Supercharge TD42
Apparently you lose your engine braking when you supercharge as it's "boosting" all the time.
I did a fair bit of research (read weeks of trawling forums) on this and finally decided that when I manage to scrape the cash together I'd go turbo for my Saf.

Re: Auto/Manual hubs
I was hooning around on the dirt road between Alfredton and Tinui and heard this godawful clanking/rattling like I had picked up some wire on the front wheel that finally gave way. Changing to 2wd gave me a clicking sound from the front left which went away after I engaged 4wd then disengaged ...

Hey Guys, Just had my TD42 rebuilt coz I hydraulicked it... Not a cheap excercise. Got the engine back and just finished putting it back in, primed the fuel pump etc then went to crank it over... the start motor engages the ring gear, spins the engine for about 1/2 a revolution then seems to ...

M8 50mm galvanised bolts for the rear, M4 50mm zinc plated ones for the front from Bunnings @ around 50c each. They work a treat, easily pulled my mates saf out of the mud and are easy to fit.
I carry a bunch of them with me in case they shear off.

Thanks Coxsy, knocked a few hundy off so I was pretty stoked. That's right, couldn't remember I looked at so many... 2" lift and 33" tyres which need replacing (probably Simex's now) but she runs well. Strong and no major issues. I'm not sure if the speedo is right. Probably have to test following a ...
