Re: Wanted to know good tracks in Dunedin

Can anyone attend the monthly open day? Thought it was only for club members. I would be interested in details as well. ( for future reference when wagon is actually running)

Re: Wrx seats into kzj78 prado

The lower bracket that needs to be raised I was thinking of a c channel type bracket to get the width for the base of the wrx seat mounts. Was only going to bolt so certing isn't an issue. Any chance you could put up a pic of yours for inspiration.

Wrx seats into kzj78 prado

Wondering if anyone has pics or experience in putting wrx seats in a prado kzj78 (or lj78). Had a search and it seems people have done it but can't find a thread. Want to use the factory runners/mounts etc if possible. Any help would be a appreciated. Thanks

Diff breathers would be one thing to do at any rate. Don't know about the couriers but the bounty's had stupid valve caps that were rubbish, diffs always got water in them.

Re: 2001 Ford Courier Modifications

They hold their own in the mild stuff and have pretty good road manners. I went to serpentine church when I had one and it did all right. For the amount of onroad kms vs off-road kms I did it was a good compromise.

Re: 2001 Ford Courier Modifications

Are you running 16x6 rims (Mazda does) if so the biggest tyres are 235/85r16 which is about a 32inch (I think) for a 15 inch rim. You will probably get some tyre rub at lock on compression.

Re: 2001 Ford Courier Modifications

Can get lockers for it. ARB do a rear air locker and there is a front auto lokka available as well. That helps with bad articulation and mean you don't have to go as fast saving the driveline. Do you have SRS airbags?

Did you go with these tyres in the end? I have been thinking about getting them as well. Just wondering if anyone has run this tyre as all the reviews I can find are the typical love them or hate them.

Re: Surf intermittant starting issue

As BlakeNZ suggested, I would look at the ignition barrel itself. I.e. put a multimeter in the terminals at the end of the barrel turn the key and see if you get voltage at start. I had a similar issue worked on acc, ign, but not always on start. replaced the end cap of the barrel and was good as ...

Are you looking for a project? I have a modded 1993 kzj78, its WJW's old one. But its pretty rough at present, was slowly fixing it up. Might part with it if the price is right (i'm looking for unrealistic amounts) Truck <200,000k 2jzge engine with ~160,000ks i believe (have spare engine with 119Ks ...

Went to the Otago mud plug on Sunday. Was quite a good watch, some interesting vehicles. Well setup for spectators. Was just a shame there didn't seem to be much advertising for it.

Had a bounty, glow plugs do require constant replacement, exhaust manifold warping can be an issue as is cracking heads. 5th gear not for towing. Door seals can let go causing terrible wind noise at over 80ks. Free wheeling hubs can disengage during descents losing 4wd when you actually need it ...
