95 Nissan Patrol SE
I'm very very sad to anounce that our 1995 Nissan Patrol SE is for sale. We have owned it since new in 1995. It flew through a WOF on Saturday, expiry is 4 August 2012. We had the engine and radiator replaced by Tean Nissan in 2008 after an overheating issue. The replacement engine had done roughly ...

Patrol rear diff locker solenoid
My vacuum locker solenoid has sha# itself. Now every time I want to dis-engage the rear diff I've gotta lift the bonett, switch the tubes over and use the "engage" vacuum to dis-engage the locker. It's a real pain in the as$..... Does anybody know on here who to talk to about getting a new solenoid ...

Re: Massive tank in the Patrol
I can't really argue with the responses given so far. I must have never had it bone dry before..... There was a time up north in Russell where it was parked on a hill and wouldn't start. An extra 5L canister plus just under 80L at the station filled it up, but as mentioned before there must be a lot ...

Massive tank in the Patrol
I was pretty sure my 95 GQ Patrol had an 85L tank but I went to the Manakau Rd Mobil yesterday and it took 89L to fill......... I told the guy behind the counter that I was pretty sure his machine was over reading cause the most I've ever put in is 85L and I've had the truck since new......... So it ...

Do you need to upgrade transmission when you turbo TD42?
I've got a 1995 Patrol.
It's pretty guttless and I've heard $3000 is what it will cost to have a turbo fitted.
If I do this will the auto transmission be alright? Or will I need to upgrade that too?
Does $3k sound right?

Went to Jeep park (awesome place
)
Bumped into another Safari stuck in mud.
Tried to pull him out.
Strap broke.
So did my rear window
We still had a good day, but probably would have been better to have gone fishing.....

MU dashboard lights
Hi all The missus has just bought a 92 MU, it's a little beast. 2.8 turbo, 170ks, 31s which look massive on it, nice nudge bar with some big spotties. Bloody awesome little truck. Anyways, we had a couple of little problems which the guys at Diesel services seem to have sorted out quite nicely, incl ...

Re: Parked up in a river.....
Yeah, we drained through the bung in the pan, then removed the pan and gave it and the magnet in the bottom a good clean with a wrag. Then we replaced the filter and pan seal and put it all back together. Cheers guys, I'll go drain some today, shouldn't be too hard to just undo the bung and drain a ...

Re: Parked up in a river.....
Well had a fairly productive day today..... Changed the oil in both front and rear diff and changed the auto transmission fluid. The front diff oil was sweet but the rear diff oil was like chocolate milk. So I guess it was just as well I asked the question, otherwise I might not have changed it so ...

Re: Parked up in a river.....
How hard is it to replace the gearbox fluid in a GQ? I had a skyline about 6 years ago which had gearbox issues and it turned into a complete mare to replace the fluids..... Are there any cheats I can use to check if water has got in without having to do too much work? Not that I'm lazy, just that I ...

Lol cheers guys, Wow this is nothing like the fishing websites, where gross exaggerations are the norm But yeah, was my first time going as deep as we did and I was a bit concerned. Might get a mate over on the weekend and do some maintanence as suggested anyways. So FB, you wouldn't just be jealous ...

Re: Parked up in a river.....
Yeah I feel like I should probably explain myself..... Looking at photos it was only the driver side wheel that was under water. Not actually the whole thing like I had thought, just above the hub. The other wheels were in past the rubber but not the hub so I don't actually think the rear diff was ...

Parked up in a river.....
We took my truck for a drive up a river in the Coromandel on the weekend. It didn't get too deep, probably the deepest it got was just over the top of the wheels. But........ We left it parked while we went for a swim. The water level where we left it would have been nearly at the top of the tyres ...

Suzuki Escudo wanted
Hi
I'm looking for a Suzuki Escudo later than 1995 for my girlfriend.
I couldn't convince her to go with the MU which would probably have been big enough to tow my Patrol out of the mud, she is pretty keen on an escudo.
Let me know if you know of anything.....

Lovells gas legend shocks. Any good ?
Does anyone know what these shocks are like?
I'm considering them or OME shocks for my LWB GQ Patrol.
Just wondering if anyone has experience with these as they.

Re: New springs on LWB Patrol
Noticed now when I go over a speed bump there is a nasty noise which comes from the suspension.
When we removed the shock absorber the axile was held up by the sway bar. Do you guys think that the noise is the sway bar maxing out or could it be because I've still got standard shocks???

Not untill just now I've looked it up on the DOC website That's not a good look, new to this sport and already breaking the rules.. We did it ages ago on mountain bikes and saw a bunch of 4x4s going through so didn't even think about it... oops I can see why tho, we got about 5km in and just didn't ...

Re: New springs on LWB Patrol
Live up in Auckland.
What’s a decent price for a set of these???
Just had a look at my finances this month and looks like it’s a bill paying month
I like to keep my creditors on their toes but not that much…..

Re: New springs on LWB Patrol
Put the new springs in this avo. It's suprisingly basic when you get into it..... The whole rear end just drops off when you disconnect the sway bar and shock abzorber... The front looks great, with at least 50mm lift, the rear looks a little higher than standard but I'm not completly happy with the ...

Old man Emu shocks.... Ok cheers for that guys. Don't know if any of you are parts gurus or not but I've picked up a set of springs CNFH-246 and the rear CNRH. I looked up on www.springs.co.nz and they specify these ones to raise the 3L Patrol. Will they still raise my TD42??? or is it too heavy ...

New springs on LWB Patrol
Hi all First time posting on this site but I've been enjoying reading the forums for a while now..... I've got a 1995 Patrol which I use for highway driving the majority of the time but off road more and more frequently. I've bought some springs which are going in this weekend to give it a 50mm lift ...
