hi rick I still have that identical egt gauge you got me still in the box. easiest cheapest option may be just change the sensor, only replace one end as gauge/sensors are matched. get another 18 months lol.

Unlikely both side frost plugs start leaking at the same time. leaky water pump would possibly get both sides wet at once. pop the belt off and see what the water pump bearing feels like. one spanner in 2 seconds tale the belt off. pump like $50

As an organizer of such events I know how hard it is to get marshals and prizes too give. How about we start a trend of not giving anything to drivers at all and putting resources towards giving tokens of appreciation to marshals. realistically competitors are not there for a prize but sure apprecia...

Pretty full on as usual, with the usual breakages and smiles, I left before prize giving so not sure who took overall honors. Hilux boys scarpered before they got the wooden spoon :roll: ....but their names will be engraved on the trophy anyway :mrgreen: :lol: Dam straight we want our names on that...

regarding electric water pump. don't run one if you can avoid it. standard pump should do it. I ran electric for several years. module under coils go's haywire on these. series one or 2 engine? does it have a clicking noise in front. harmonic balancer rubber slips and can upset crank angle sensor a bit. tho not usualy causing miss tho.
