Re: K&N apolo cold air closed system

What area do you have available? Can have a look at work tomorrow and check out what size donaldson enclosures would suit. Off the top of my head I'm nearly certain it'll work out alot cheaper than the K&N one you're looking at too. Will be easier getting a new one that fits your requirements rather ...

Re: warning lights

An led is a diode so adding another one won't do anything. Probably needs a resistor to bring the voltge down, but not sure why the fuse would blow instead of the led burning out

6' = 72" though :lol:

Doesn't ' = foot and " = inch?
(I hope so anyway, we never learnt about this imperial thingiemabob at school  )

But now you've mentioned it I think you're right anyway! I'll have to measure it in the morning, I'm not gonna venture out to the garage again now haha

Re: Terrano problems

The rev counter thing isn't just the needle drooping and dragging on the dial surface is it? The needles on the older terranos seem to be made out of shit that bends when it gets hot. You can bend them back if you're careful, take the steering wheel surround off, unscrew the plastic cluster surround ...

2-3 days on 'fast'way can do free :D

overnight island to island on courier post is about $22

or, if you don't want the antenna it'll fly into a courier bag, overnight about $7

FS: GME TX3100 UHF radio $250

Need to get new shoes for my terrano so just seeing if theres any interest in my radio. I'm after $250 + shipping. It'll come packaged in the original box with manual and all the parts that come with them. Great wee radio and super compact! They really are about the size of a pack of smokes. Could ...

Re: Terrano auto leaking

got a bit delayed last night, and I've just discovered two bolts at the back (transfer case end) that I can't get a socket onto. Can just get the ring end of a spanner onto it but not enough room to turn it.

Anyone got any tips for getting those last two bolts off?

Bummer, oh well I have it now. 83 was the trade rate too!
I'll try bnt next time for sure, they seem to be better value all round. Right, off to pull the pan off now.

Should I be using a gasket sealer too? I've heard varying thought as to the necessity of it

Re: thanks to the little shits that went through my vehicles

I had my drivers window smashed on sunday night. Radar detector was stolen. I hope they get a huge speeding fine because it doesn't work properly Very glad they only did a smash and grab though, Radio, socket set and other tools in the back were worth far more. Love AMI's glass cover option, no ...

thanks for that darinz I was talking to a girl at repco earlier on and they have the filter and gasket in stock. It's only $83 for that so I'm going to go ahead and do that anyway. Hopefully it is just that leaking. I did notice that it looks like one bolt has possibly been lost. She also suggested ...

Re: Holidaying in NZ - Tracks near Queenstown and Fox Glacier???

If you like river crossings macetown is another good trip.

As far as 4wd rentals in queenstown go, there were quite a few prado rentals around in the winter, so tehre must be some available. We hired a double cab hilux a few years ago too but I don't think that company is still around

Terrano auto leaking

I've noticed a bit of oil on the drive over the past couple of days, thought I'd do an oil change and check everything out while I had it up on stands. Looks like most of the auto trans fluid has leaked out. The pan has oil on it and appears to be worse toward the back and in the middle. I couldn't ...

Re: Holidaying in NZ - Tracks near Queenstown and Fox Glacier???

You should be fine in a camary, Dad and I took mums Corolla into skippers (he didn't want to take his car ) but you shouldn't have any problems. I'm not sure how you'd be placed with insurance. Other times I've been in with my terrano there have been other small cars. It's basically just a gravel ...

Re: Fitting Driving lights

It's pretty easy to wire them up with a new realy, just take a feed off the high beam wire under the bonnet and use that to trigger your relay and take a 24v feed off your battery, through a fuse and into the relay. If you want to make using the driving lights optional decide where you want your ...

That's where I plumbed my gauge in. Not a pretty job, but I'm fairly certain those hoses aren't gonna blow off. It's max boost is 10psi

Thats a pretty sweet price. I got quoted near $700 to get them done here in Dunedin! I think they figure that most people can't see through to ...

I've got a momo one in my Terrano. It's 350mm which seems to be a perfect size for a 4wd IMO. The 320mm wheel I had in my mazda was alot smaller and would have been a bitch in the Terrano. I can only imagine it'd be worse in larger vehicles. Keep an eye out on tardeme, you can get some pretty good ...
