Re: Safari 3" lift kit

Another question some of y'all maybe able to answer is will i get away using 3" lift springs with 4" lift shocks to maximize the most flex possible? Cheers You may run into issues with the coils not remaining captive. If you only want a 3" lift, but extra flex, you can use Dobinson s...

Well, 7 years of using 2 stroke in my Safari's, and Landcruisers certainly caused no problems, unless running quieter is considered a problem

Re: Brake proportioning valve

If you haven't got an issue with the brakes, leave them as is, if there is a problem, take it to a mechanic. May potentially save you money in the long run.
The bolt doesn't move with the lever.

Just checking you are pushing the lever/actuator, and not expecting the bolt that protrudes to move with it.

Hmm, been holding off getting new aerial because I was expecting to have same crappy reception afterwards. Might give to windscreen mount type a go, for $15, will be worth a shot!

I've seen a few Safari's for sale over the last few months with what appears to be incorrect manufacturing dates.

Re: 2.8 6 cyclinder safari help

I had the GU shape shorty and found it extremely sluggish with an auto behind it, both on and off road. The later 2.8 had problems with the fuel pump wearing, so would suffer from hot start issues. Easy fix is a sleeve from Nissan, think it was about $40. Would have been interested to try another, o...

Re: NISSAN PATROL 3.0DiS

I was close to doing the same, but decided the GQ, although slow and noisy, hasn't missed a beat so was worth keeping. I am told the later 2005 onwards were reliable, but I'm not prepared to take an expensive gamble. You can pick up the odd later shape TD42 Safari on TM for similar $$ to the ZD30. O...

Post up a pic of the warn motor with the broken end cap. I have a couple different older warn motors here that are stuffed but have good caps. I only went for these because I had to change the door lock. Saw it as a way to prevent the locks being damaged by a half arsed attempt to get in with a screw driver, by those who didn't want to risk being heard smashing windows in our quiet street. Not much to the keys, but seemed to do the job wel...

I put these on my old GQ a few years ago when it got broken into. In winter I found the locks could freeze and take a bit more pressure to work. Was worried about mud possibly blocking them, but they didn't get to the point where they couldn't be used, just got a bit gritty
