What so the 2 temperature senders attached to the radiator do?

I have a 1992 GQ petrol TB42 Auto fuel injected model. I have just replaced the radiator with a new 1. I noticed there is a temperature sender mounted on the driver's side on the side of the lower hose connector and another temperature sender on the driver's side near the top of the radiator. I pres...

Yokohama Geolandar GO56 HT/S

My current set of GO51 HT/S tyres have traveled approx. 95,000kms and one is barely legal now and in need of replacement. Yokohama has introduced the Geolandar GO56 HT/S tyre, with orange oil in the rubber compound, to replace the older GO51 HT/S tyre. Has anyone had experience with the Yokohama Geo...

I put in a set of their HD standard height in my 1992 GQ LWB. They were very helpful over the phone. You can either purchase them direct or off Repco.

Re: Not sure what to buy - Family vs 4wd....

IF you're only doing 5K a year, a petrol is what you need. I purchased a Safari LWB 1992 EFi with 90k for $9,200 about 3 yrs ago. It's a low roof, 7 seater, front and rear a/c, rear axle LSD, rear axle articulation remote release, heavy duty webbed tow bar and auto with a free wheeling front hubs. I...

Can Superwinch LP10000 solinoids be mounted remotely?

I'm doing some research on the Superwinch LP10000. The pics I have seen all show solinoids mounted over the motor. If mounted on the front ofmy Nissan GQ factory winch bar setup the solinoids may foul up with the driving lights. Does anyone know if the Superwinch LP10000 solinoids can be mounted rem...

Re: Coil Springs - Are "Cobra" any good?

I fitted std height Heavy Duty Cobra's coils to rear of my LWB GQ Safari a couple of years ago. They were an improvement on the factory coils. Rear is much stiffer and level now when towing the boat or loaded up for the Christmas holidays. I dealt direct with the Cobra, found them very helpful over ...

Re: best tyre prices in Auck

The best time to do deals on sets of tyres is just before month end. Distributors in many industries often offer added discounts/rebates if retailers achieve certain targets. If a retailer is close to hiting a target they will often sell at cost to achieve a target and pick up the extra discount/reb...

Do they match my spec of 16 x 8 PCD 6/139.7 offset -28 or backspace offset of 88mm?
I live in Orewa, commute daily to Auckland.

Nissan factory rear axle options for TB42 GQ LWB Safari

Hi,
I thought my TB42 GQ LWB Auto had a rear LSD. After reading 1 of the topics I realise it does not have LSD-when rear wheels are jacked up, gear box in neutral, the rear wheels will spin in opposite direction when 1 wheel is spun by hand. What are the other factory options?

Re: What size winch do I fit onto my Safari LWB auto petrol?

You all forget one thing. The most powefull eletric winch used on a Safari is based on an 8000lb winch. The manufacturers rating doesn't mean much at the end of the day so if you don't give it enough power then it will still be crap! I'd say wait a few weeks as there is a winch test happening soon ...

Nissan Safari spare wheel nut size?

The 3 spare wheel nuts on my Safari are smaller that the 12x1.25 nuts used for the road wheels. I've been to my tyre shop who could not identify the size. Does any one know what size they are likely to be or have any tapered ones for sale?
