Re: Its not a project.... honest lol

You talking about the LT95 upper PTO?

I have one on the Stage 1 driving my winch. Very muchly excellent. There are a number around but you have to know who to ask.

Of course the Stage 1 and Rangie are slightly different. The Rangie is more common.

New front shockie bushes.

Fitted a nifty tachometer from Summit Racing: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atm-1797

Needed to replace the 12V bulb with a 24V and hook up to a 12V feed.

Next job, get the vacuum gauge in.

Yeah, and you'll be told the axles break, the engines blow up, they sink in the mid-Atlantic,... You'll also be told they will rape your women and murder your children. In reality, look at how many of them there are on the road. There are heaps, and that suggests that maybe, just maybe, they have ...

Usual warnings apply, but $4500 is a good price for Disco of that age and with a 300Tdi. The extras are better.

Discos are good off road. All vehicles have weaknesses. You pays your money and you makes your choices.

I have a rebuilt set of Strommies and 3.5 inlet manifold too. Got 3.5 exhaust manifolds as well but I would think that on a 3.9, you'd be looking for a larger throat that the little 3.5 pipe.

You can replace them (rear cross member and outriggers). These are available for purchase. Check out the guys at m or the many pommie sites that sell them. Replacing the chassis is a big job, but can be done in a weekend> gpTKTwEQksE If you can get a reasonably good chassis for just $20, then jump ...

Peter, as ever you are too humble: "a life member" you say. Perhaps the ONLY life member of NZFWDA might be more appropriate.

If you have not met PV, he is on this video, at 3:30.

Re: Thoughts on middle member

That was what I have some to think as well. Have it as an I section between the chassis rails.

But Moriarty's plate idea might still be needed for the hand brake drum and transfer case that are left exposed.

I wonder. Would that need to be certified? Could I get away with it being called a repair?

Thoughts on middle member

Over time the centre cross member on my Stage 1 has got somewhat bent from being high centred. I am thinking about what it will take to have it straightened or replaced with something more substantial. Since that needs to be done I thought it would be a good idea to take steps to prevent that from ...

You could test it, I guess by starting the motor and blocking the end of the pipe to see how quickly it dies. You should also hear sucking if there are air leaks.
