Re: Good Auckland fitter?
Ended up at Firestone Birkdale. Quoted $80 off the bat to strip, fit and balance 5 wheels on the vehicle. To save me the hassle I traded in the spare for $30, so cost me $50. $10 ea stripped fitted and balanced! Can't complain at that.

Good Auckland fitter?
I have a new set of muds to fit to my current rims, and will fit the best old tyre as the spare (currently a different size) 5 x fitted and balanced in total. This will leave the current spare, brand new never driven on dunlop grandtrek 265/70r16 surplus. Anyone know of a good fitter on the Shore or ...

Re: Kumho KL71
Certainly seem to wear well. I bought my prado with biscuit cutters fitted, so got hold of a cheap second hand set of KL71s with 6mm in the centre. Keep them at 40psi on road, been running for a year now, and 20,000km and only worn 1.5mm. Will certainly be looking at getting a new set!

Grizzly Grip MT. Your thoughts??
Been browsing TM for some new muds, baby on the way so on a budget, and came across these being sold from a guy in Te Puke. They are Chinese made, and 10 ply? Been for sale in the states for a few years, but not been able to find much in the way of reviews, road manners, off road traction, expected ...

No mention here of a 90 series prado? Have IFS. What would be best? Anyone removed sway bars/added disconnects front/rear to theirs, and what was the result?

Prado rim and tyre help?
Not long bought a standard 96 landcruiser prado, 100k on the clock, and lets be honest, they dont look to flash with standard 265/70/16s on it tucked well inside the gaurds. First thing I want to change is to improve its look and actually get out there offroad by upgrading the wheels. Also the ...

Can I swap 8v carby intake for 16v MPI?
Hey guys, currently got a G16a 8v carb engine, and picked up a parts truck/project with the 16v MPI intake, wondering if I can put this on the 8v engine for more grunt. Just wondering if it is an easy swap/bolt on, and what would need to happen regarding the ECU and wiring, and if it is worth the ...

Suzuki G16A short block wanted.
Any one got a spare short block they don't want/need, possibly a parts vehicle lying around with a stripped head or something. Got a project that has dropped a piston and damaged the crank, so trying to source a short block is a lot cheaper than a whole engine. Am in Christchurch.

Re: G16A or G16B How do I tell? manual hubs & headers
so just to be clear, a G16a head uses a distributor, and a G16b uses a sensor?? So a 16a head can't be replaced with a 16b due to the ECU?

Well an excuse to be out in the shed at least. This is my first go at building up a vehicle, so we will see how we go, it won't happen overnight, but will happen. Re: Engine rattle under hard acceleration
Have you found the problem? could be a buggered engine mount rubber, causing the mount to rub against the chassis? Had something similar when I did an engine swap in my courier ute. Just put a few large washers in there to give it some space to move, no issues since.

Re: Starter motor, 8v and 16v the same?
Thanks, but mine aint that easy to see through the muck.
or is it just the heads that are different, ie could I bolt a 16v head straight onto my 8v block for more power etc, meaning the starter motors are the same?

Got a buggered g16a 8v solenoid, but starter motor otherwise fine. just wondering if the g16a 8v and 16v take the same starter motors or if I need to get an 8v specific one.

Will Simex ET 31/10.5/15 fit on a suzuki escudo?
Hey guys. Have come across a set of second hand simex tyres, and was wondering before I part with some hard earned dosh, if they will fit on a suzuki escudo, with what width rims? We have the simex ET 29 inch on at the mo, but have recently done a 50mm spring lift, and wanting to get some bigger ...
