Fitting aftermarket rated tow points to ARB winch Bar

Has anyone fitted rated tow points to an ARB winch bar? I currently have 2 rated tow points bolted to the end of the chassis rails, but the hooks face down meaning the rope / strop may slip off when slack - and effect the approach angle. A seasoned 4wd veteran suggested I have them relocated to the ...

Right you are. Apologies again. Have you seen the trademe ad with the guy wrecking the vx in Auckland. Bad smash in the rear, but the front is OK apparently.

Hitch receiver versus rear rated tow points??

I have removable tow bar on my 80 series landcruiser. Will a club typically allow a removable hitch receiver with rated shackle as the rear recover point, or do you definitely need 2 x rated tow hooks? Are the 10,000 lbs tow hooks from 4wdbits generally accepted as rated tow hooks? Has any one had ...

As far as I know, you can't at all have tyres poking outside the guards, regardless of wheel type/size.

Flexi flares do the trick...

flexi flares??? How do you get your hands of these?

Large off set rims - issues with WOF's

Im about to get some new wheels and tyres for my 80 series. I have seen some wheels with a rim / tyre combo on a built up 80 series tourer with a larger than normal off set rims which see the tyres probably about 25mm outside the edge of the guards on each corner. The 80 I saw had an LV cert for the ...

Re: All Terrain vs Mud Terrain tyres

that will all depend on what bias you want from your tires..... if you want better on road manner :the BFG all terrain are hard to beat, or maybe cooper S/Ts? 285/75/16 is a popular size so plenty of options... for better off road :i do know guys with the old style BFG mud getting 3 years use ( and ...

All Terrain vs Mud Terrain tyres

All 4 tyres on my 80 series landcruiser need replacement. I'm taking the opportunity for a mild 2 inch suspension lift to get some larger tyres under the guards. Thinking about going from 270/70 r16 to 285/75 r16 so not compromise performance too much. It will be predominantly a tow vehicle for my ...

80 Series Landcruiser - bigger tyres with no suspesion lift?

This is all a bit new to me so excuse my ignorance. I have just purchased a 80 series landcruiser. I want to set a up a touring wagon, but capable of some good off roading on sand and the odd forest trek. I think the suspension is pretty standard. The current tyres on it are 270 / 70 R16s. Would it ...
