Having a few problems with getting my 5l to run, bleed lines etc starts fine idles fine but as soon as put foot on pedal it coughs splutters and blows white smoke any ideas on what it could be? smoke clears and engine revs when pump up fuel primer, is mechanical injection

hi all just brought a 1991 2.4 diesel turbo surf in the process of giving it a 2" suspension lift 2" body lift and possibly 33" mud grips thought id join up as I have read alot of good info on here
