Re: Demo derby advice?
Have a look at your wiring and make sure it can't get pinched or squashed easily, cut out what's not needed, indicators, brakes, lights etc. If you are keeping your radiator, cover front with shade cloth (behind grill) leaving a gap between shade cloth and radiator so air can get around it when it ...

Possibly centre diff lock. Does it have a 4WD Auto mode? This applies a percentage of drive to the front via a viscous style coupling in transfer case when it requires I believe. Centre diff lock locks this up for "true" 4WD

Re: Welder
^^^ What he said. I wouldn't recommend modifying 15A plug to fit a 10A one. It's not only the earth pin that's different, the phase and neutral contacts are heavier on 15A sockets as well. Could void insurance if it's deemed the cause of a fire... just saying. Your willing to spend good money on a ...

edit...Fortunately the studs are the same size as Toyota ones that are a coarser thread so I decided to replace all the studs with those. This also means that they now match the back & all the wheel nuts are now the same. Nice to know, wish I knew earlier, then I would have put Nissan studs in my ...

Free spool on these is stiff due to seals on drum and sticky gearbox and brake grease I think. I'm running one of these and have rebuilt the gearbox with bushes as needle roller bearings failed (outer races had multiple splits) and welded each planetary stage back together. IMHO good for general ...

Re: 80 series recovery hook mounting.
depends on how you look at it Big, if you got to a trip and the person doing the checking of hook bolts couldn't identify what they were, ie: 3 dash bolts then no, as there are no numbers to identify its grade and as a general rule a 3 dash bolt is only a medium tensile material so again, not ...

Use a bigger hook, easier, faster. Yes , use a thimble thingy, keeps the rope in its formed shape
Edit: Opps... I need to read properly, for some reason I assumed you had wire rope
