So yeah.. drop diff oil. Remove 4wd actuator, remove snap ring and you're good to go..

2000 hilux ifs axle seal
Hi, passenger side front diff axle seal looks to be leaking 2000 hilux, have removed cv etc unbolted it from flange, need to remove the axle assembley (circled in blue)... i see from this schematic there is a snap ring, does this need to be removed from inside the diff? ie unbolt the front diff ...

cheers for the replies... got some things to try.. im thinking narrowing would help... that plus dulling the powercoat + glue?. Not interested in bead lockers.. its not a serious 4wd and if i change rims i'd likely loose offset.

hey guys been having trouble with my tyre/rim combo ever since i got them years back, brand new 15x7s and 30x9.5 bighorns. when i air down they seem to break a bead too easy and im not airing down much.. ive had them pop at as much as 15 psi or more, i don't go below 10psi. i have mates with 30x9.5s ...

i put an OEX brand alt on my 1kz as i didnt have the time to get it reco'd, was only a month ago so cant really comment on how long they will last.
All good so far tho it does hum a bit but that might just be the new brushes?

i've got 3 of them now but had the blue one first.. mounted it onto of the steering column for egt... problem with that was night driving, i was always checking to make sure i wasn't on high beam as the blue from the guage looked like the highbeam light at a glance... personally im not a fan of the bnt rotors, had 2 sets on the front now and both have warped with small hairline cracks... last set have been from autostop so far so good...

my kzj78 had a stripped bolt hole in the inlet manifold where the inlet pipe bolts up, caused a nice oily leak in that area. spray some degreaser and hose it off to see where it starts leaking from

kzj78 gear measures 15mm on the seal surface, you might have to pay for some machining after getting away with that grinding

hey guys going hydraulic isnt too hard... st151 corona master with vl commy hose slightly modified using stock t50 slave. the alloy is there to take up some of the shoulder of the master as the firewall is thin and help spread the load. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/smkdout/suz/SDC11497.jpg
