Re: 80 series winch info
you want to take that old roller (and out of centre) fairlead off and mount a hause fairlead on there mate, the opening on the fairlead idealy wants to be narrower than the width of the winch drum to take the spooling/loading and cable bunching directly off the sides of the drum, the fairlead slot ...

1-HDT running on 5 at idle
I've got a frustrating issue that I'm looking for help on. My 80 series 1-HDT is only on running on 5 cylinders at idle. It runs fine on 6 when revved. Number 3 is the cylinder that is lazy at idle. It's had the pump rebuilt about 15 months ago and has just had new injectors put in which have since ...

Re: Need help with 80series brakes
I've also had crap brakes. They used to be good until I lifted it and changed the rear diff to a factory locker one that had drum brakes. After that, spongy and pedal would go to the floor. Bled them, rebuilt them (callipers and drums) and swapped booster all with no real result. Now I've bypassed ...

Re: Looking for a 24valve VX Ltd Cruiser
Tonight I looked at one that had wet front drivers side carpets. I understand the drain hose for the sunroof causes this, should I look at anything else here in regards this issue? It also appeared to have a substantial oil leak from the power steering pump area as the steering/panhard? links etc ...

Check the nuts are tight on the 4 studs coming out under the front left hand hub - kingpin nuts. These work lose on lifted trucks after a bit of off-roading

Toyota Free Wheeling Hub Spring
After the spring out of a Toyota/Asin manual free wheeling hub. Mine has snapped and 3wd is not fun. Even a whole hub (hilux/landcruiser) would be okay if not too $$$.

I run a 5 inch lift (efs). When I first did it I just had 2 degree castor bushes in and it didn't hit so not sure what's going on with yours. Anyway it was all a bit scary on the road so I made up some drop boxes after trying unsuccessfully to locate some. I have no fabrication skills but it was ...

80 series steering box spline
Hey all, Just took my steering box out to be rebuilt and it looks like the spline has bent about half a tooth. I've heard of these breaking (I think WJW on here had his break) so don't want to take any risks. Anyone know where I could get a replacement straight one or a wreckers with one? Cheers Dan

It went good. Sent the parts to Tu's and got them back and installed without too many problems. Goes sweet with 4wd at the push of a button. Way better than having to put the front drive shaft in each time which is what I was doing. That wears thin fast. I do a lot of km's so it suits to run it in ...

Yeah I remember this truck from Trademe too. From memory it had Superior front arms but they were modified for some reason (ordered wrong ones maybe?). So perhaps its a castor isssue depending on what it's doing on the road (like TomsOffroad says), but if its tracking all over the show it might be ...
