Wanting breather info: I can see two breather lines under the bonnet I am guessing one is from the front diff and the other is from the gearbox. Is the gearbox and transfer case joined underneath into one pipe?
I see the rear diff only has the one on top of the diff so I will be extending that.

Re: Diesel tuner
According to my plate under the bonnet my diff ratio is 4.33 and I'm running 31x10.5x15s.
So looking at your guy's posts it's not to bad. I will still look at replacing the injectors over Christmas and see how that goes as I would think that they wouldn't have been replaced.

Re: Diesel tuner
Yeah I'm thinking of getting the injectors done.
If there is anyone in Whangarei that has a KZJ78 cruiser with a standard 1kzte that I can compare the two vehicles would be great.

Re: Diesel tuner
Engine and transmission have been serviced. Not sure if injector pump needs adjusting/tuning.
Haven't tried anything yet as I'm hoping to get some idea if it's a trans issue or engine before I go spending money at the wrong place.

Diesel tuner
Hi does any know of a good Diesel tuner in Whangarei?
I have a 93 KZJ78 Landcrusier and I am only getting 12-14lt per 100Km which I don't think is that great. It seems to rev a lot and not much go.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well I took the chamber things off and got two rubber chair leg feet from Para rubber and put them on.
All sealed up now.

KZJ78 Air box
Hi fitted a snorkel last week and just checking for leaks and found on the air box there are two plastic chambers I'm guessing for catching water which have small holes in the bottom to let the water drain out for when the intake was in the guard. Now I have a snorkel I don't think I would need ...

Kzj78 headers for 1kz-te
After removing the EGR and fitting a snorkel this weekend I noticed a crack in the exhaust manifold. Does anyone know if there are headers available for a 1kz-te on a kzj78 cruise?

Re: 185 surf lift
I had Dobinson springs (2" lift) and Rancho adjustable shocks in my 185 and it was great I would do it again.
Set the shocks at 8-9 for the back top handled like a car on the road at those settings and 1-3 off road.

Re: KZ185 Central locking problem
The little black box under the drivers seat of some vehicles is for an after market alarm/central locking. I took mine out as I don't have the remote to set it. Its been out for around 3 months now and no problems with electrics. I unplugged it first for about a week to make sure it didn't upset ...

I have a Gen 3/185 inter cooled Surf and I have fitted BF Goodrich 265/75R16 Mud Terrains on the standard Toyota rims with 2" lift. There is about 20mm clearance at full lock.

The two versions for sale in nz from yota are pink and red. Pink is suitable for our old 1kzs, red is not (from the horse's mouth). Sorry old thread I know, but this info from zed is incorrect. I work for Toyota so can confirm the following regarding the Toyota genuine coolants. Toyota Long Life ...

Re: WTB: ARB, TJM or MCC front bar to fit my Surf KZN185
I have been looking at the Prado ARB bullbar that fits our model Surf but it still has to be modified as there is a big gap at the corner of the bulbar and the indicator. Also I understand that you have to cut a bit out so it will fit in by the guard. Did you have to modify your MCC bar in any way ...

Re: FJ40 heater/ windscreen demister
I had a FJ40 about 15 years ago without a heater so I know how much of a pain it is.
I got a heater from a mini which was a complete unit, radiator fan all in one, all I had to do was screw it to the floor and bring in the heater hoses worked well.
Good luck with finding one.

Hi Looking forward to the trip tomorrow can't wait. I have been 4WDing with various clubs in NZ, Australia for 20 years & now back in NZ and have never been on a day trip that allows DOGS, firearms or alcohol. Maybe the upset people could organise a trip with Doggy day care to satisfy their dogs ...
