Re: 93 Escudo auto no spark
Yay great news, I opened the ECU and measured each of the capacitors that I could find and one was leaking despite not being swollen or bulging.......$0.80 later from Jaycar it fired right up. Super happy to hand this back to a friend on a farm at Mapiu for his wife to use a farm truck. Thanks for ...

93 Escudo auto no spark
Gents, I’m at the end of my knowledge and Google results.........G16A 16v. I’m trying to help a farmer fiend get his Zuni running after he turned it off one day and the next time it just cranked and does not fire up. Currently there is a fat spark as one starts the crank, then zero during the crank a ...

HID Conversion question
Hi, this may have been hammered over time but are fitting HIP kits to one's truck ok for WOF as long as the defraction angle to the left on low beam is pronounced enough? Or would any HID change over fail other than factory fitted ones?

Disco 1 shocks
Long shot but would any one have a rear pair of shocks to suit my Disco 1 Bobtail. Measured from centre of eye to bottom of body where the lower bolt starts is 670mm extended and 410mm compressed. So after an eye top and pin bottom and the truck is a full off road mud truck and not for road uses so ...

I just bought some off Alixpress, $79 for 30m. As soon as there is a 4x4 label attached to it the p[rice triples. Yes they are also used in the marine industry and are priced differently.

Re: Disco with electric winch
I've got a Disco with RUNVA 9500-Q winch (upgraded cables) running off 2 x 650CCA batteries and standard 120A alternator. Battery earth cables run to a common point with the winch earth so not relying on the chassis for earth. Entered in Clubman Class and done all 4 rounds so far in the Mainland ...

Yer, the starter is next on the list of things to disconnect. I have done the alternator and nothing changed. I also unplugged my LED light bar relay, reverse LED switch, radio and still the same draw/ voltage loss. I will pop the power cable off the starter tonight as I don't use the old banger on ...

Re: Battery drain
Yer, I have a trickle charger for my bike which I could use but really want to find the reason. One small solar charger from Super cheap makes the battery last about 5/6 days then it will not start. With the solar panel is gets 4/5 days and sits on 11.6 volt approx. I'm measuring the voltage every ...

Battery drain
Hi guys, ok so sorted one Disco out with new winch cables and second battery so now for my TD300. I have had battery drain for about a year now and can't find it. Well I have all the winch cables remade and will be doing the factory earch as well as a new chassis to engine to complete the "tidy up" Was really well priced from The Cable Shop in Hamilton. Trevor the owner did a hell deal and the speed of service was crazy. Less than 24 hours! All crimped ...

Ok, thanks guys. Holy crap, 2 770 batteries and super fat cables. Ah ok, thanks. This does all make sense. The battery is 10 months old but doesn't mean any thing I know. Re: 96 v8 disco
They are great value for money and very capable vehicles. Not the best economy on the open road but then when one buys a V8 one is not theoretically thinking of economy. The Lexus conversion in the Disco have tons more power and also run approx. 8lt/ 100km less than the normal 16-18lt/ 100km ...

2016 Queens BDay weekedn at Ngaroma KC4WD
Quick vid knocked together last night of our club run 2 weekends ago. The Rodney club was there as well doing their own thing with some really nice trucks. Never seen our park so full which was great and we didn't cross paths once due to us having so many tracks available. The Ngaroma road was also ...

Yr, good point. It was the easier way out for me at the time fitting it as I didn't want to go buy a tap for a one off hole so just took the plate in. As I have just moved house and so its a bit full on at the moment but will revisit the mounting of it again and maybe drive it to some to do on site ...
