Re: WTB - 4WD (South Island)

Giday Stompin, I'll throw mine in the mix! Me cooks givin me pressure to go back to a 4 door ute (I think she wants to start the breeding programme again) Any how, I've got a 92 safari, owned the bugger for about 11 years now, she's just this week clocked over 180,000km, its a manual, ARB winch bar ...

Re: repco oil

Engine oil is pretty simple, look for the API rating (American petroliem institute), if your running a diesel you should be looking for a C (compression engine) rating, this has extra detergent in it to keep the old oilers clean, you will see API cf, or cg, or ch, etc, basically the higher the ...

Re: What 35" tyres shoud I get??

Hay Kiwi I've been running Cooper STT's in 35's for the last 11 years (old style, with the good tread patten) and they have been unreal, ran BFG for years before that but they became a joke after driving on the coopers, Pretty pricey now tho, and the new style doesn't seem to work nearly as well as ...

Re: Snorkel advice for a newbie (1992 Safari)

Hi Gav, IMHO i'd stick with a well known brand, Safari, TJM, etc, as they seem to put in a lot or R&D in to there products, although some people seem to build a decent bent pipe set up, what ever it is just make sure it is well sealed! Another thing to consider is the ability to be able to replace ...

Re: 4" EFS Coils for GQ Shorty

Yeah I understand the COG thing, ive logged over 2.5 million kms in truck and trailer units and currently work as a heavy transport driving instructor and heavy machinery operator trainer. The set up in my GQ is 3" coils and 30mm spacers, I work on the droop theory for off road performance, and was ...

Re: 4" EFS Coils for GQ Shorty

Yeah, the good old rear drive shaft issues! I've gone longer stronger lowers and panhards and will go adjustable uppers, so i may be able to tweak things a bit to suite, me current 3" coils with gearbox packers have been in for 8 years now with not the faintest hint of vibration, but sure as s--t ...

Re: 4" EFS Coils for GQ Shorty

Thanks for all ya help guys, I like the sound of the 5" fronts idea, I've been wondering about that concept, kinda makes sence to compensate for the heavy front bar, and could work well with drop boxes and raised towers to try and get that bloody front end to twist up a bit better. Thanks again ...

4" EFS Coils for GQ Shorty

So here's the brief team: The old shorty is on its 2nd set of coils now an its time to throw some new ones under it, I'm pretty keen to give those EFS buggers a go, and instead of the usual trial and error thing, I thought I'd put it out there? What I'm lookin for is an honest 4" lift for the front ...

Re: 315/75/16 Mud Tyres and Rims Wanted to Buy / Swap

Giday Matt Just had a close look around me tyers an I reckin theyve got about 6mm in the centers and 15mm on the side lugs,so I might have put ya crook there they may be a bit cheeper. Its taken 5 1/2 years to get them to that stage so im pickin they'll be good for a while yet. Im pretty keen to ...

Re: 3L (2.8) turbo exhaust size

Im thinkin along the same lines as the others, 2 1/2 inch for a 2.8 litre turbo. there seems to be a masive price jump when you go to a 3 inch pipe especialy if you run a flexi on the system, i've got a 4.2 GQ nissan with extractors and 3 inch mandrel pipe, and remember that dam flexi being about a ...
