All Nissans of that vintage, car or 4x4 are notorious for fluctuating and/or failing RPM counters. However they usually play up randomly and not at a specific speed. Hey, just been reading through your post. Using the same running gear in my vehicle and got sick of destroying any and all variations of locking hubs. One of the best modifications that I ever did to mine was to have a bash plate made. It went from under the radiator support to the cross member between the lower suspension arms. Either 4-5mm aloy or 4mm stainless. Stops the crossmember acting as a plough in the ruts and slowing you down ...

Dont jump straight into the hard stuff. Is the light red or yellow/orange? If its the red light with the symbol of the oil can then you should take it to your mechanic and get the oil pressure checked with an accurate external guage. The red oil can light only really comes on at very low oil ...

If you haven't already sorted it out, call Phil at Traxion and he will allways cut a good deal. I've got his efs shocks and springs all round. Fantastic... Much cheaper than 4wd bitzzz
