Diff pinion??
My D21 developed quite a loud whine when it got above 50kph and when I went to drop out the rear drive shaft I noticed the pinion shaft was very loose. The nut is still on tight... Am I better to try and fix the bearings and what ever else could be stuffed or just buy a second hand diff head once it ...

Re: Diff ratio??
Ok thanks, I probably have a 4.8 diff then. Like i said i think the diff is not standard. If it was it means that with the standard tires fitted in 5th at 100kph the engine would be sit at around 3000rpm... seems way too high.
Are the 4.8's out of the V6 petrols?

Diff ratio??
I have a manual diesel D21 and i wanting to know what diff ratio i have... Fitted with 33's it runs at around 2500rpm at 100kph on the speedo, yet 100kph on the speedo seems to be about the right actual speed. If anything it could be slightly faster than the true speed so it seems the rear diff is ...

Re: idler arm with 33's
ok thanks, I just thought a damper would act as support arm that would resist the rotation. I guess the bushes will still allow for some movement.... sibainmud could you please elaborate on how you can tell the ball joints on the drag linkage are stuffed just from the photo? Is it just because if ...

Re: idler arm with 33's
has anyone had any success in stoping the linkage rotation by fittting a steering damper?? Or will this just put more stress on the joints?

Re: idler arm with 33's

Re: idler arm with 33's
well i cant see that its actually bent. The only problem is that the tie rod is now hitting the chassis slightly at the normal ride height. the truck has had a 50mm suspension and 50mm body lift. my question more is could i simply chuck in slider plates or would this wear out the tie rod end fast. I ...

idler arm with 33's
I have just brought a terrano D21 with 33's on it and tie rod is hitting the chassis on the left hand side of the truck. Does this mean my idler arm is bent? Il make up a double shear mount and slider plate as soon as soon as i fix the problem, but is it likely that i will need a new idler arm or ...
