hey guys, im wanting to swap the old petrol 2.6l for the 2.5 turbo diesel wl-t in a proceed.. the question i have is what do i need to keep off the donor ute for the engine to run? im hoping that the engine mounts are in the same spot.. the gearbox side of things ill just swap the bellhousings over ...

im in need of the last 50cm of a 40/45 series cruiser driveshaft. i need it to mate the rear uj to my front yoke on my project. itll eliminate the need for an adaptor to be made... so if anyone has one with a buggered front half would be ideal if you could cut the rear part off for me.. cheers 02724...

theres new heads on trademe for $400 and something, although theyr a bare head im after a usable bottom end to rebuild for mine..so i can rebuild it and put my head on it, then rebuild the block thats in my truck now,and sell that.. my motor still runs good, it just has a noisey lifter,it gets annoy...

i wouldnt of thought that it wouldv been from detonating unless it was under load, and you wouldnt go put a fresh engine under load untill it had been run in and a fresh oil change... usually atleast 1000kms from rebuild thats how we do ours and have never had a problem. i would also be thinking tha...

the G6 was a completely one off design from what ive read.

i know that you can change the bellhousings over to fit various motors, but diff clearances may be an issue.

and if it comes down to an engine swap id be going for a WL-T anyway

ive been trying to find stuff on it aswell, but havent had much luck, have only seen the earlier carbed mitsy verion with a turbo...

so i guess ill just guinea pig it.

radiator isnt too bad... allthough i dod need to replace it with a new one asap, its looking rather perished, so best to replace that before replacing a motor.. im also looking at putting a turbo on it to see how that works out. they run about 8.5:1 comp ratio as standard so no wonder they lack powe...

most likely the ecu, they have a diode or 2 inside that corrode at the solder.. locate the ecu, pop the cover open and have a look, you will soon tell if its super clean or not.. quite common problem.. i have a issue with mine, sometimes the idle hunts, and is usually idling around 1200rpm... pretty...

gearboxes will last longer if you dont try and load it under 1500rpm.
definately put in a new radiator at any sign of water loss..

the WL-T motors are really good, our work ute has done around 450,000kms and still runs mints,doesnt use a drop of oil/water.. unlike all of our low km hiluxs
