hey karl0z, when u said ur truck now sat on normal temp are u basing it on the factory gauge or after market gauge.. if its after market temp wat readings are u getting gfoing up a long hill Based on the stock gauge, used to sit on half exactly and the creep a lil each way up decent hills which was ...

Ideally, you need to keep the Panhard rod at the same angle to the axle as original. Best way is to fit a new bracket. Have just been over the cooling system in my 1kz surf with the same problems (new head,water pump,prado themostat,full flush,new custom ali radiator, trans cooler etc). And still getting hot when towing or up hills could'nt keep it under 100 when going up a hill. Fixed it finally by adding about ...

Yeah I'd love to know if anyone has had any luck with the cooling system without driving it snail pace up hills. I've done the radiator, external trans cooler, new Toyota thermostat, fresh coolant, fan seems to be sweet and yet on the weekend I still managed to get above half way on the stock temp ...

If I'm to chuck in a set of 50mm lifted springs into the rear of the surf am I going to need to change anything with the panhard rod and brake lines? It's only if I go higher correct?

Well went out to the bombing range on sunday, came on at the creek and ran about 40km up the beach with o/d off and was prolly sitting at 2500-2800rpm it ran sweet pretty much the whole way but got a lil hot after a hard kain during the drive down ryt at the end of beach I think it was just due to ...

Hey guys I've been looking at making a drop bracket for my panhard rod, in you opinion would you guys make the standard rod adjustable or make a drop bracket? I'll do which ever is more recommended

Gidday guys, well got the truck all back together and wow she's great now no heating problems what so ever
! Thanks for all the help you guys gave me it's been great, I'm going to get egt gauge in the near future too

Just an update guys I got my radiator taken apart and flushed out, the guy said it was over 50% blocked thru the core haha so nice core, new tanks and along with new hoses and thermostat we should be good to roll. I'll update when it's running . Anyone know any good places in Auckland to purchase ...

Oh I see that's awsum, so what kind of temps do you say are high like when do you start backing off to let it cool? Might get one aye cuz the stock gauges are crap lol.

Awsum cheers guys very helpful, I've ordered a new radiator, hoses, thermostat. So I'll chuck all that in and go from there. With this egt gauge are they readily available? I've checked my viscous fan unit that's still mint, I've got brand new coolant in it which I'll reuse in the new radiator. And ...

hi there, my 1kz surf is having a few issues with getting hot, mainly when i go along the motorway at resonable rev's not excessive and then if i give it a bit of stick to go up a hill it gets a lil hot on the temp gauge also if im giving it death to get up some soft sand etc, any tips on keeping ...

hey try checking your throttle bodies, myn was surging too and i had a gunked up 2ndary throttle butterfly cleaned it up and ran sweet after that, also check the acuator hose that runs into the 2nd butterfly isnt leaking air/vac.
