Re: Manualising A343F
I'm in Whangarei. It's the factory Prado trans with 1UZ bellhousing, pump and torque converter. I managed to find a pin out for my factory Prado ECT. The pin out is actually for a Jeep AW4 trans but the wiring seems to be exactly the same as mine. Then I just manualised it using your guide. Passed ...

Re: Manualising A343F
The plug at the trans has 8 pins and the ECT has 26 if that helps. Pin outs would be great

Manualising A343F
I've just completed a 1UZ swap into my '91 LJ78 Prado. It goes great but I'm having transmission shifting problems as expected. The trans is an A343F with a seperate ECT. Basically I need to know if the lexus ECU will work alongside the Prado ECT or if I have to fully manualise it how do I go about ...

Re: LJ78 4WD problems
Got it working !!! The previous owner had removed the A/C pump and left the vacuum line unplugged when they finished. All I had to do was remove the "T" so now it just takes it's vacuum from the alternator. Another helpful thing I learnt in another thread was, even though I have manual hubs, I ...

LJ78 4WD problems
I just bought a LJ78 Prado and when I got home I decided to have a play with the 4wd. But no joy, front wheels won't engage with the H4 button or L4 lever. The hubs have been changed for manual ones and seem to be working. I locked the hubs and jacked each front wheel up individually and when I ...

I think I have almost a complete set of dark blue ones. Possibly sold one of them, but I'm pretty sure I even have the bumper caps. Really good condition. $150?

Re: WTB 1st gen surf.
Finally sold my van today so I'm in the market for a 1st Gen Surf. Decided against a hilux as not enough seats for missions with mates. Will consider anything with a wof or not too far from it.

Going to look at a 1st Gen Surf. Petrol manual. Hopefully it ticks all the boxes. It's not solid axle but maybe that can happen later.

WTB Hilux ute
I'm looking for an 80s hilux, preferably single or extra cab. Or would also consider 1st gen surf. Must be solid axle. Petrol or diesel. Budget is $5000.
Edit: Decided a single cab hilux doesn't have enough room for activities
So after a first generation surf.

I got the same email about a 2006 Prado a few weeks back. Was listed for 9000 on trademe. Seemed too good to be true, and sure enough it was.

Had this van for a few months but I want to get a Surf. It was a 2.4 turbo but has been converted to 2.8, all certified. Automatic. 214000kms. Have receipts for over $3000 in including a brand new head in 2010 Body and paint are very tidy but the clear coat on the roof has peeled. Hi/Lo ratio works ...

WTB - 1st Gen LWB Prado
I'm on the lookout for an early Prado (1990-96 I believe). Must be a LWB. Not too fussy if its 2.4 or 3.0 although obviously 3.0 is preferred. Would like a manual but auto will be ok too. Hoping to get one with factory diff lock.
My budget is around 6K, is that achievable or am I dreaming?

I'm helping a mate sell his truck. He's wanting to get a van so he might consider swaps for a decent Hiace or L300.

I really like the look and idea of the L300's but I have heard nothing but bad reviews of their reliability, particularly when compared to a Toyota (no offense to any Mitsubishi owners out there). Basically this is the vehicle I want but with toyota parts.

I love this idea, but because of the sheer size of these trucks it makes shipping them very expensive, as well as maintenance and parts.

Expedition Vehicle
So early next year I am looking at building an expedition vehicle. I am a toyota guy through and through so I will be staying true to my roots. What I can't decide is what vehicle to choose. I previously has a 4x4 Toyota Hiace camper which I loved, but it lacked ground clearance particularly in the ...
