Re: What size tank in my prado?
I have the same SWB RX and have been suspicious about the tank capacity. All the specs say 90 litres but even when running it to empty and fuel light on for quite a while, I have only managed to get a bit over 70 litres into it. I had the same issue with an earlier model SWB Pajero. The SWB turned ...

Re: 96 diesel SWB Manual Prado
Thought I would share my experiences with an identical truck. Toyota tracked me down for the axle recall - seems the previous owner hadn't bothered to follow up, possibly because he knew it was soon to be sold. Both axles have now been replaced - top marks Toyota! If you feel up to a bit of wiring ...

Re: Calibrated Map download tool
What a great find and with huge potential. It seems that since your post, most of the common map sourses (eg Google Earth)have been removed due to license/access issues. A real shame that! Thanks for the post though. Rog

Re: Hankook RT03 or Maxxis MT Bighorn???
It looks to me like the 764 will be a better mud tyre than the 762 by virtue of the tread being more open then the 762. The 762 has a tight centre tread pattern and I figure that's the reason they are quite good on seal for a M/T. In saying that, the 764 tread blocks are quite angled to the ...

Re: Hankook RT03 or Maxxis MT Bighorn???
Just to conclude this thread, the feedback was really useful and I ended up getting a set of Maxxis Bighorn (the last of the 762's I think) 265/75R16 for the RX Prado. Feedback was overwhelmingly in favour of the Maxxix tyres. I've fitted the new set on 8" rims and the fronts rub above the mudflaps ...

Re: Hankook RT03 or Maxxis MT Bighorn???
Hey team, this feedback is fantastic. A big thank you . Of course I'm more confused than ever but have come to the conclusion that there are no bad tyres within the bunch that we are discussing. This then suggests the price will have quite a bearing on the understanding that "you get what you pay ...

Re: Hankook RT03 or Maxxis MT Bighorn???
The only price I have for the MT762 Bighorn at this stage is $399 inc for the 265/75R16. I'm still not sure how the two tyres compare performance wise but if your price for the RT03's is any indication, they are streets ahead on price......

Re: Hankook RT03 or Maxxis MT Bighorn???
I rather like the look of the KL71 - will obviously do the job off-road. Had a set of Kumho MT Powerguards on my Zuk and they were pretty good. What's the KL71 like on road, handling, expected mileage?

Hankook RT03 or Maxxis MT Bighorn???
Just setting up an SWB RX Prado 90 and are stumped over tyre choice. I've decided to go MT rather than AT even though most of the running will be highway (but not high kms)as the truck has to look the business, you know what I mean. Just after first hand impressions on either of the RT03 or MT 764 ...
