Re: Expedition 4x4 - what's best?
For $6k you will end up coming back to the l400 in my opinion. I did, twice. The pajero doesn't even come close for room and nor does the Patrol (owned both). Obviously they are a compromise offroad but not to bad. Contrary to popular belief they are not based around a Pajero chassis, which will be ...

Re: R150 into LN106?
I do have the bellhousing from an ln130 which will bolt up, time to put it together and have a measure up I guess. Engine is the 3l 2.8 diesel.

R150 into LN106?
I have an ln106 with a g52 gearbox that is getting noisy. I have a surf r150 here just wanting some solid info on what needs to be modified to get it into the Hilux? I have googled and found everything from 'not worth the hassle' to 'bolts straight in mate'. I understand the wiring for the electric ...

Possibly for noise reduction? I had a similar experience but I found a large piece of foam in mine, pulled it out and it ran much better but also a lot noisier.

2LT vs 3L injectors/pumps?
I need to replace the clutch in my Surf so figure I may as well throw in my 2.8 at the same time. I was going to put the top of the 2LT pump on the 3L pump but I am not sure if this would actually offer any advantage over just using the 2LT pump complete? Also I imagine I should be using the ...

Re: 2lt egr/ecu delete?
This one was a jap LN106 single cab, it was the original motor and I assumed factory inlet plumbing and egr setup (definitely looked factory, pressed steel pipework etc). Anyway it went a lot better with the less restrictive inlet and I am interested to see if there is an improvement with forced ...

Re: 2lt egr/ecu delete?
I had a Japanese 2.8 ( I think.....was a while ago) which had a similar mani to the 2lt but the nz new one i replaced it with was 'side feed' rather than coming in the top and had a larger diameter inlet and different air box and inlet plumbing. i thought it was an NZ vs Japan thing but perhaps it ...

I wish I had just asked here before I spent hours trawling through various other sources, thanks a lot for that! 2lt egr/ecu delete?
I am after some info regarding getting rid of the egr system and it's associated butterflys etc on an 89 Surf ln130 2lt. From what I have found so far, if I pull the lot out, manualise the glow system and give the pump 12v I should be able to get rid of the ecu altogether (it is a manual) does that ...

The pcb for my gauge looked good to but I went over all the soldering anyway and it fixed it. That was 2 years ago now and no problems since. You will want a good soldering iron and a steady hand.

Re: Looking at this Surf - Advice Please!
I am not sure what the quality of those heads is like, when I was looking I think they were ok? I would be more concerned with whether it was a complete replacement (ie aftermarket cams and valves etc) or a bare head set up with his original valve train. I hear the aftermarket valve gear is not ...

I was just wondering if someone with standard suspension (could be a long shot round here...) in an Ln106 could measure the distance between the guard and the middle of the hub please? Re: gear box has a mind of its own.
Pretty sure it will be 4 speed, and it sounds like fairly normal behaviour in my experience. None of mine have wasted any time locking t/c once in 4th and they pull pretty well when they do, I always felt they cruised well. What size tires are you running?

Toyota 3L + bits Help/whats it worth?
So I have a bit of a parts stash I figure I need to start selling. One item I would like to part with is a toyota 3L diesel. I got it running today, but I can't really satisfy myself it is A1 due to no cooling system being present and anything belt driven has been removed. It sounds fine though ...

Re: 94 Pajero front issues
As above pop it in 2wd and check if the front prop shaft spins. I just wanted to add when you do this your engine will have to be running as the front diff disconnect is vacuum operated and if its anything like mine it wont stay disconnected long with the engine off. Mine was doing a similar thing ...

Re: WTB Safari/Patrol GQ lwb
It depends on the vehicle. Up to 8k for a good one, maybe a little more for something special. Cheaper always better of course, I am not afraid of a little rust etc as long as it is fundamentally sound and priced accordingly.
A bit vague I know, just after a good deal really.

Hi, as per title I am after another GQ. My wife has been using my old dog and doesn't want to give it back. So I am after a manual diesel lwb, preferably tidyish with little rust. North Island would be good, lower N.I even better but I will consider going pretty well anywhere for a good one. I can ...

As per title, I would prefer with glass installed and good hinges would be a bonus but open to anything not rusty. Hoping for something within a couple of hours of Wanganui, colour not important. Contact me on here or call/text Tim on 0274 912 202. Cheers.
