Hi Guys
My trusty '93 Terrano auto trans just went brrr and lost drive after a few years slipping in 3rd.
Now looking for an auto replacement, or perhaps a manual for conversion.
Let me know if anyone can help, in North Island.
Thanks

Re: Terrano at Tukino
Nice one how'd she go? What tyres ? Got a bit asthmatic up the hills in National park - blowing fuel smoke otherwise good. Only wish I could sort the auto to stop it changing two down and revving hard out. Hankook Dynapro MT tyres kept on going through 200mm of snow with an ice base, until my mates ...

Re: March 8th - 10th
Pulled some dash out and steering covers, to permanently wire in my digital egt gauge. Found to have flat batt, seems to be a problem now I work 3min from home. On charging, one cell is fizzing, is that end of life ? Also pulled auto aerial, but works ok, so must be the dodgy Chinese stereo, so that ...

Thanks DRPC, I was there yesterday swooping in on the local youth centre to hire staff for our packhouse. Found a really good bunch of people.
Will keep an eye out for you guys, thanks for the connection.

Re: Arrghhh D21 Spare Wheel Carrier.........
I removed the whole carrier and took it to local engineer who rebushed the lower hinge, cost $100, well worth it to get that rattle out of ya head. I know it wasn't a diy, but good value for the time spent. I'd make sure the plastic bump stop is adjusted high as possible first, maybe spin the block ...

Re: D21 vs R50 auto trans and TD27T idle
Thanks kw, i've turned the fuel ~1/2 and that alone has made it much more drivable. Now less throttle, more power, so not so many gear changes. Ta for reminding me about the 'hold' button - i have tried it in the past, but with less power it didn't do much. Now it's a smoke generator, holding gear ...

D21 vs R50 auto trans
Can anyone tell me if the auto trans in R50 models is as difficult to drive as my D21. Lots of 5th..3rd..5th..3rd on full throttle. Or are the transmission electronics a bit smarter from '96 on. I've read the posts about switching lock-up, but that disables it until restart. I have a pretty good D21 ...

Calmini brace won't fit my Terrano
Hi out there I bought a Calmini idler arm brace recently, went to fit and the holes didn't line up a. with the idler arm mount & b. with the chassis holes (interference with the body mount) Model is WD21 1993 TD27t Does it look to anyone here that my I.A. is already bent? http://i266.photobucket.com ...

Re: october 29th-30th
Replaced LSD rear diff oil in my 93 Terrano. Now it drives off the jack at idle speed, whereas before just spun the lifted wheel and would have been stuck
. Tried Castrol lsx90, didn't even use the expensive stuff (may have a shorter life).

80 series Landcruiser 2WD conversion
A mate wants to know if he can turn his fulltime 4WD 80 series into a rear wheel drive only, by changing to free wheel hubs and using the centre diff button to turn on 4WD when needed.
Is this possible, or will it just burn out the centre diff?

Re: TD27 with ... the sickness!
I would check the butterfly on the intake pipe from turbo to inlet manifold, its controlled by a vacuum valve next to the pipe. I freed mine up and got lots more power back - I'm sure it was stuck semi closed and blocking off air.

Re: What is this intake valve Nissan TD27T Terrano
So with the vacuum line closed off, the butterfly could have become closed in the throttle body and starved the air flow? This would match the symptoms of low power and black smoke. Perhaps the intake pipe is coked up & needs a clean.
