Akatarawa Recreational Access Committee (aka ARAC)

Sad to see some (very justified) criticism of ARAC in some posts - most seems to come about through our lack of information dissemination. Complaints about the website being out of date were made years ago - Well there's a new site now http://arac.org.nz please check it out ARAC has not gone away ...

Re: Red Rocks - Wellington

It's rare for me to post here, but have to advise some vehicles proudly displaying ORE stickers were seen hooning beyond Karori Stream and have been reported to the authorities This Saturday is the rubbish collection organised by Barry Insul, and the cops will be in attendance checking vehicles ...

Please don't wade in !!!

There is much at stake here, not least of which is fanning flames that need no assistance within the eco-movement. Bruce has been an amazing advocate for all recreational issues for years, and does some really good work which actually benefits us all. I have known and worked with and alongside ...

Time to check what the bastards have been doing !

Now is the time to just pick out those Local and National Newspapers and check out the Public Notices We’re looking specifically to tenth-schedule closures under the Local Government Act 1974 – and then not a closure for a day so for an Easter Parade But some Council’s have been quite blatant ...

A cross-post from the NZ4WD forum - just a note to say thanks Just a quick thank you to all who have contributed to the cause of getting PRS Incorporated and letting us move forward There’s enough there right now to pay the Incorporation, and we’re well on the way to having enough funds to allow ...

I would be interested in investigating auto cross posting to a PRS announcement forum here on ORE from your forum Excellent idea - trouble is most of the software I know about is there to hunt down and delete cross-posts - not create them! Any idea how to do it? I'm waiting for PHPBB 3.0 RC to come ...

Spot on Paul

Yes, the research needs to be quite thorough before you start cutting gates etc !!!!! Dedication is the main guiding principle, as is the act of Prescription (no not taking drugs) and of course the Queen's Chain is simply a colloquial expression to describe public accessways in general not ...

Why Don't I post ?

Frankly forgot I had an account - but the memory jogger from Cloggy reminded me of visiting ORE when it first formed - way back when. However, the Paper Road Society is a bit of a passion for me. I felt tied down by formal Clubs and the Association - when trying to open up roads only to find Clubs ...
