Hi there, what sort of zook do you have? try putting transfer case into neutral and go through the gears to rule out gearbox, bearing on fifth gear has a tendency to go rough due to poor lubrication. its a 1990 escudo. I have already tried this and its not the gearbox. ill drop the bungs out later ...

so all of a sudden over a couple of days my zooks gone from quiet to whining loudly over 70kms and slight noise when coasting down. i have a samurai and an escudo. the samurai has the 1600 8v in it and it flies up hills where the escudo has to be in a lower gear and pushed up. the 8 valve is generally better on and offroad. and if ya snap a cambelt ya wont need a new motor, in the 16 the motor will be toast, if you can get an 8 ...

ive got one in my samurai! the diff makes all sorts of horrible sounds if someone who doesn't know the car drives it but once you get use to coasting corners its not to bad. big asset off road! although its annoying i would put one in my next vehicle. cheers Mike.

ok so i chekd the crank keyway, cam and crank and ignition timing today and they were all fine! and new dizzy cap and rotor. so after all that ii had a thought and put the old 1300 carby on for a try. boom problem gone so the guy who done the carb done sweet #### all and its the carb causing the ...

yea will do the dizzy cap and check the timing next. its allways had a slight problem on the open road and it was at random after driving for a while but now it seems to do it round town and all the time etc

ok so $200 later i still have the problem. ordering a new dizzy cap and rotor which will be here next week. sick of spending money on things that dont fix it. being a carbed engine theres not a whole lot it could be! any other ideas?

hi i have a proble with m g16a 8v carbed engine! it runs fine under light acceleration but when i floor it it hessitates baddly from 2000-3500rpm then runs fine after that. it has 6month old electric fuel pump and bosh coil, new plugs, leads, i havent replaced the dizzy and rotor but they dont look ...

yea they are and they have no emission control crap on them. strip one and rebuild it in an hour

Su carb is the odschool carbs. can use the 1 3/4 hiff44 of the old mini/mg engines which are ment to produce better power than standard carbs. have herd that the webbers have to be tuned perfectly or they will cut out in steep terrain. Plus you can run blow through boost on them

yea man his runs fine but i must have a better power to weight ratio as mines in a sammy way beeter low down tourqe, and mine has a few mods which help out a bit. thinkn of putn an su carb on it when i get some coin!

i dont have a timing light. no there are no other ports in that area so it must be one of these 3. need someone with the same motor to compare it against. also the purge system has been removed and is blocked off. basically the carb is only using what it needs. it hauls ass and smokes my mates ...

it still runs with all 3 of them off if anyone could confirm what one the vac advance goes of that'd be great. and also were are the other two ment to go im not too concerned tho as it runs pretty good

yea ive got one but it needs some minor repairs on the choke/throttle springs there just a bit slack and sometimes it will put a bit more fuel through than it should apart from that its fine

make sure you leave the battery off for atleast 10 minutes the capaciters in the ecu are capable of storing power/data for longer than a minute without power

i have the brno that they coppied and a mate of mine has a the norinco one. they do shoot good and are a good price but the action is sloppy and loose when you compare them to the brno. cheers
