I'm so glad I came across this post, I will be ripping the carpets out of my new motor soon and was planning to do the same thing with the first suitable thing I saw... could've been in the same boat!
My old man runs the Maxxis Bighorns on his Navara work ute. He is alway towing a trailer and at least twice a week he is towing 3 ton of trailer and digger. His ute has 58,000km on the clock with the tyres fitted when brand new and the tyre's still have around 8mm tread left. That's pretty amazing ...
Hey guys, I need to find somewhere to store my backup Pajero for a few months, in Nelson. The mrs and I have moved into a place (for now) that has no space for it off the road. It's a non runner, but I keep it as a full set of spares for my working motor. Anyone know of any private wreckers (or just ...
2.2mm after around 30,000 would keep me nice and happy! Previously, I've owned a set of Mudstars and a set of Kumho Powergaurds, with the Kumho serving me light years better in every aspect, particularly road wear, so I'm backing the brand... but I'm reading nothing but good wear reports on the ...
I appreciate the feedback guys ...but, as I've been seeing elsewhere there seems to be some conflicting reports on both tyres It's good to hear how people who've actually used them got on with them. I guess given the lighter price tag the Maxxis is starting to make more sense, but I'm still keen to ...
Also, the best prices I've found for these in the size given is $320 for the Maxxis and $380 for the Kumho - anyone know where I might pick either up cheaper?
So I'm planning to get my new tyres in the next couple of weeks and after a LOT of researching reviews and forums, I'm pretty set on getting myself either Kumho KL71 or Maxxis Bighorn MT762 s. The size will be 33 x 12.5 x 15. They're going on a Mk1 SWB Pajero, petrol. They'll be used on the road and ...
Just to add an opinion - if money is not an issue for you then I would take the petrol every time, especially with the lower mileage. As suggested, even with RUC's the diesel is likely to be cheaper to run. Parts are going to be easy to come by for both models and they should have plenty of life ...
Selling two tyres on trademe if anyone's interested, I know these size are always in a little bit of demand: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=381500099 Currently in Napier, but I will also have two more of the same for sale, worn down to 3mm or so, plus possibly 2 x Kumho Powergaurd ...
