Re: 2000 TJ clutch problems..... loosing my mind over this
Had a similar issues with my mates cars. It might sound stupid but is the Clutch Plate in the right way around? And the other one would be check it compared to the old one. The new clutch plate we installed was 15mm short on the flywheel side I believe which didn't help much. Unfortunately It means ...

Re: Removing a windscreen SJ
Damn that would of been useful a couple of months ago. was Trying to get a wind sreen out of a fj45 wreak for my project but ended up cracking it. I was using my usual trick for getting glass out of running 2 screwdrivers around the edge to flip the rubber around. Works great on the side windows but ...

Re: Waterproofing an ECU
Yeah agree with putting it as high as possible. I've got mine in my glovebox and I've made sure all the panel joins around it are fill with silicone. I've seen guys that have the ECU in the engine bay putting them in the snap lid box and putting as much silicone as possible around the holes for the ...

Yeah its not in any of my manuals either. It's an 1984. They go in behind the inner oils seal. They have to be installed through the hole for the diff. the short sides easy enough to get back in the long sides a bit more interesting.

I've got a passengers seat out of a 84 FJ40. Mostly in One piece just no seat rail. Not sure the rails would work with 68 any way.

Re: HJ45 flatdeck restoration
Na its an Early FJ45. Its got the same Gearbox mount as your but no engine mounts. And the body mounts are all different. Fortunately they are the only good parts on my original Chassis, it shouldn't be to much of a hassle to swap them over.

Had something similar in my Truck when I got it. Ended up scraping it and putting in the full cage I got from my first truck. I could make on up, but I would find certified welder to weld it up properly. My welds are a bit inconsistent for that sort of thing.

I don't believe they came with a standard roll cage. I know the Soft top trucks had a simple tube frame to support the soft top. I've got the 2 pieces that go over the doors some stored away somewhere.

From what I know the Toyota diesels are pretty built proof provided they have been regularly Serviced. Parts are easy to get ...

Tail light looks like the standard factory one. Not sure on the legality of the doors but I have heard of people removing them completely for a wof then putting them back on afterwards. Can't really help with anything else.

Looking good, I'm a qualified engineer and my rust repairs weren't that pretty. Gets really dis-heartening doing rust repairs you start off there's a little bit to do, and by the end half your trucks on the floor as scrap. Next time I do mine the whole body tubs coming off. If you need a hand or ...
