22r ignition module and coil
Hi, I have swapped a 22r motor into my originally 18r hilux. The old 18r dizzy is points and the 22r one is electronic, so I'm trying to track down an ignition module to get it sparking. Does anyone have one lying around somewhere, or know of a way to get it working? The 22r is carby, and the 18r ...

Re: 91 L200 turbo diesel. Thoughts?
I have had a fair few of these, turbo and non turbo. the turbo ones arnt too bad speed wise, they hum along well enough - not turbo are a slug. Reliability I found was great from both. Never had any major issues other than one turbo needing to be replaced but i knew that before I brought it. No head ...

Holden v8 and v6 auto box differences
Hi, looking at possible engine conversions for my old 2ltr 4 speed hilux and would like to keep it as simple as possible. it seems that Isuzu transfer cases slide onto the output shaft of a Holden v6 box which is great. Due to this simplicity I was looking at the holden v6, but after a bit of ...

18R Toyota Carb Tuning
Hi, have a old hilux running the 2.0 18R engine. When i got it it ran a bit rough - had a bit of a miss at idle and it jumped around quite a bit, played around with the carb a bit - cleaned it out etc and it ran really well. Couple days later went to start it, ran worse than ever - took it to a mate ...

Hi, after a few parts for a hilux i just picked up. Mainly after drivers side window regulator, section of the dash that fits around the radio, wing mirrors - possibly other parts too. If anybody has anything or knows of anyone with parts lying around flick me a message.

Only pic I have on this computer, can get more if interested. 221km, has dings, scratches, missing trim, peeling clearcoat etc. not pretty but it is sound, not a rusty pos. Tailgate missing the handle, still opens and closes fine. Drivers side electric window has been replaced with a hand winder ...

Re: TD05 16G Turbo for Safari - Small vs Big Differences
OK thanks for the input ill forget about those ones then. Looks like search just got a whole lot harder... havnt seen ANY 16g early evo turbos, the were all the larger 20g, and never come across vr4 td05s. Im guessing these are found on the early 'evo zero' vr4s? I was advised to steer clear from ...

TD05 16G Turbo for Safari - Small vs Big Differences
Hi Looking at turboing my td42 safari in the near future, have done a fair bit of research on the topic and seems the best turbo is a td05 off an evo. I dont want to be modifying the pump, so will stick to the 16G, however research has told me these come in 2 sizes, and the smaller size will suit ...

there must have been a few weird hilux combos around then, i had a 88 that was shaped like a 89+ but with a 1.6 petrol 1y engine, so it could very well be the 1.8 2Y engine

Re: l200 mitsu 4 wheel drive diesel are they economical
iv found the 4d56s to be very reliable, owned around 5 of them in pajeros and l200s, only thing ever to go wrong is a blown turbo, ks ranged from 150-420 on them, and tbh i didnt maintain them the best 4wd non turbo l200 got around 650km 4wd turbo l200 was a little better of course it depends on the ...

Thanks for that, the old owner said it needed an oil change, it had to wait a few days as im on a uni budget but i will do it today. Do you think its worth putting an oil flush through it? I have always been quite wary of any oil additives... I thought you may have been right about the cold shutoff ...
