Re: Thompsons track area
Maybe it's sometimes easy to forget that Councils also do maintainance on some (all?) of these tracks, so while I guess you could go pulling gates open how long would it be before slips closed them indefinately anyway? Also I would guess that some of the time they shut the tracks they may have to as ...

Re: supercharging a v6 terrano
If you could get an M90 to work they are on eBay in the states for less than $200 US all the time, Manifolds would be a bit of work like passenger Pete says and it would really need to sit on top of the valley to keep the manifold as simple as possible.

Re: nissan terrano VG30E starting problems
I had trouble with mine, wouldn't fire at all, turned out the ecu was poked, anyway, I found a Nissan site that listed a self diagnostic mode you can run the ecu through and the list of what the error codes meant, that might help narrow things down, the ecu is under the drivers seat, I found it ...

Not sure which Narva lights you are looking at but I did like how some (all?) light force lights have an adjustable focus length meaning one flood one pencil or any other combo between

Re: Steering shaft splines.
My old man does a lot of custom steering shafts, axles etc at work, if you can't find a standard one that will work I could get him to give you an idea of price to make one to suit.

Re: My GQ Build .........
I got the offroader manifold turbo kit with external waste gate and plastic snorkel and found Brett there pretty good to deal with, they didn't have the snorkel or rear turbo exhaust flange at the time I bought it, but did courier both to me later and rang me to say the flange was going to be longer ...

Re: Different ratio diffs on the same truck
Not sure about the cv turning angle but when we were converting a safari rear end for 4ws our original plan was to use a front diff in the rear but found whichever way it went in it was going to load the wrong side of the crown wheel and pinion. You may have the same problem in reverse putting the ...

Re: Left Rear Calliper wanted Safari/Patrol Y60
Hi I swapped out some rear hubs for front ones to make mine 4ws so have a pair of rear calipers excess, don't really wanna split them and get stuck with one but the fronts cost me $150 so you can have the rears for that if you want the pair text me on 021967087 cheers

Re: wanted: 80 series rear diff.
No complete axles, but have front shafts, rear shafts with hubs, couple front diffs and a pair of rear calipers if you find something that needs parts, not far from you for pickup either.

Re: Rust repair help
I would agree that a panel shop is your best bet, if the wof inspector see's a less than professional job he may ask who repaired it and if they were qualified to do the repair. If you decide to do it anyway flush will look better than overlapped but is a lot harder to do, i would maybe cut the rust ...

Re: Surf or Safari
The solid front axle is definately a plus in the Safari if you are doing a bit of serious stuff as IFS cv's don't seem to last long with larger tyres but I will say if you are looking for A Safari Trade me is a waste of time, even rough ones are 5k +, ask around if you want one and find one ...

Re: Safari front axle upgrade advice
True, There is not really a target or anything, I guess we are after the best strength, reliability and performance for how much work we have to put in. Obviously it's a bit more work to put in say a 4 link front end but then is it's performance over a standard front end worth the effort? It's a lot ...

Re: Safari front axle upgrade advice
No there was no shocks or springs in it to be fair and with the weight of the diff hanging off it, it is a big load going the wrong way, but it did apear to be a clean break too. I guess then by the feed back it appears that the strength of the front end is not an issue so if you don't mind I might ...

Re: Safari front axle upgrade advice
Thanks for your advice, The reason I was thinking about it is we brought a front half of a chassis for the hubs on the diff to make it 4WS. We picked just the chassis up with the gantry crane letting the diff hang down and the thread at the chassis end of the arm broke off, leaving one side of the ...

Thats what I was thinking of doing but I wondered how much better a four link with pan hard would perform over just beefing up whats already there as the four link would be quite a bit more work
