2009 JK CRD Service
G'day, My 2009 CRD has hit 100,000 ams and I think the cam belt should be done (although some say it doesn't need to be done until 250,00kms !?!). Anyway, does anyone have the recommended service interval for these? Also - any mechanics in Chch other than the Jeep dealer? (who will be a touch ...

SJ Rockcrawler Noise...
So I took the Jimny for a spin today to test my rebuilt SJ transfer box with low ratio gears. Driving in 2H there is a pretty noisy whirring sound coming from the box. Back at home I took off the rear shaft and ran it again in the garage in gear and the noise was there. So I've eliminated the shafts ...

JKU Roof Rack Options
G'day, I'd like to take my bikes and kayak (creek) on my wrangler unlimited but not sure about the best way... Has anyone mounted normal gutter racks on their hard top and carried a bike or kayak for extended periods? I'm reluctant to put that sort of load on the plastic gutter. The alternative is ...

I didn't realise that, thanks. The samurai one would be fine, I could modify the bolt pattern.
Attached a photo of what I'm after x 2.

Falsgrave's had 1, which I bought but I'm short 2 still. The transfer case I started with didn't have any on it. At the time ...

Re: 15th - 17th March 2013
Just about finished the SJ crawler box conversion for my Jimny. Have to borrow a dial gauge to check end float / shim requirements then can finally offer it up to the Jimny for the first time! Then I need to find somewhere in chch who can modify the driveshafts and suppy the 2 missing flanges - any ...

Re: 235/75/15 rims for a jimny? (wanted & advice)
I'd read somewhere that 31x10.5's should be run on ~8" rims and 235/75's on a 7" rim.
Mudbits sell a 7" with a -15 offset. Anyone running 235's on those?
Hardyakka - what rims do you run?

235/75/15 rims for a jimny? (wanted & advice)
Does anyone know what offset is best for a set of 235/75/15 KL71's on 15x7" rims?
They're for a 2000 Jimny with a 3" suspension lift.
Any help appreciated - I'm thinking -20 or so is the go.
Anyone have any for sale too?
Cheers, bj

Best NZ tyres for a Jimny!
I know this is going to polarize people's opinions but I'm new to this and want to try and purchase the right tyres the first time! I have a 2000 Jimny with a 3" suspension lift (no body lift) and soon custom front & rear bars (work in progress). I'm pretty sure Kumho KL71's are the ticket for NZ's ...
