Re: Electrical problem - dash gauges and windows not working

Will disconnect battery tonight and see what happens after work Monday. Looks like it may be a visit to the auto sparkies (bugger, i'd like to DIY this)

Re: Electrical problem - dash gauges and windows not working

Alternator seems to be fine, its pumping out 13.7v while she's running, I ran power from the battery to the main window switch on the drivers door to wind the windows up. chalk up 1 win! Had the gauges out and resistance test the tacho, fuel and temp gauges. They were all 90-200 ohms... work shop ...

Re: Electrical problem - dash gauges and windows not working

I have had strange things happen electrically when the alternator regulator went on the fritz...Gauges went haywire.... Correct me if i'm wrong but one alternator test is to test voltage across the battery when rev-ing the engine? Revs go up: voltage goes up = alternator ok (yes/no?) Have done a ...

Electrical problem - dash gauges and windows not working

Anyone know if injector pump problems would show up as an error code on the ECU?

Took me a bit longer but got it all back together and recycled the grease/hup caps even though the outer rims were a little beat up.

Re: Terrano outer cv boots

Hi there, Since its the long weekend i thought i would get into changing my cv boots. So i have 2 questions 1. Hub cap removal (inner cap on the hub): What have you used to remove the hub cap? Do you normally destroy it taking it off? Mine is pretty tight (rust i think) so i wanted to get some ...

Re: Introducing.....

Cheers! Talked to the shock shop and they quoted $10-15 per arm to press out old bushes and install new bushes. Guy reckon he has done a few and he needs all 20T to do the job and they make a real 'POP' when they come out. He was pretty helpful and recommended make and type of bushes to buy. Cheers ...

Introducing.....

Hi all, I'm from Auckland and have a 1998 Nissan Terrano (QD3.2, auto). I don't do any hardcore 4x4 but use my beast for the typical beach/gravel/snow off road driving. Had it in a flood with the water up near the door handles and it handled the jandle!! So to save costs i'm going to change the ...

Re: Terrano outer cv boots

Ok, got another question for the kiwis on here. CV boots from Repco; are they good quality or are Nissan CV boots advised (i.e. do Nissan CV boots last longer but are more expensive?)

Re: 1998 Nissan Terrano (Auto, QD32ETI) surges

Did a bit more digging and found this thread in another forum describing some of my tranny symptoms. Anyone interested follow this link and scroll down about half way (or read all 6 pages). Will try disconnecting the revolution sensor (as advised in these posts) and see what happens. Sounds like a ...

Re: 1998 Nissan Terrano (Auto, QD32ETI) surges

Spoke to a Nissan wrecker out South and he reckoned it's the speed senor/revolution sensor in the tranny on the fritz?? Looks like i need to drop the box out to access this sensor...or according to the workshop manual drive at 30km/hr while testing the voltage between TCM terminal 25 and ground ...

1998 Nissan Terrano (Auto, QD32ETI) surges

Hi there, my 1998 Nissan Terrano (Auto, QD32ETI) surges when i accelerate from a stand still. When i put my foot on the accelerator the truck takes off and instead of a smooth take off the truck (or trans) surges or misses for a second and then it runs fine. It happens most the time (80-90%) but ...

Re: Terrano outer cv boots

hiya,
I'm new, but have to change my boots as well. Any advice on removing the wheel bearing lock nut, where to source a tool to do it (and not pay $100's) or any idea of a number 8 wire replacement??

Cheers
JW
