Re: Jimny queries
Mine has been called cute before.. Not sure if that's a positive or a negative. Haha. Jimny's are pretty simple 4wds. So if something does break it's usually pretty easy to fix. Parts are generally pretty easy to get. Mine is a 98 with the g13bb done 210,000 kms.. and the last 30,000kms it has been ...

Re: Ideal Jimny offstet
I have 15x7's with 30x9.5. The offset is -15 and they fit well. When I had the plastic guards on the front, the edge of the tread on the tyres lined up with the edge of the guard. My tyres did rub on the back of the front guards so I had to do a bit of trimming. This was with a 2 inch body lift only..

Re: Factory toyota tow hook?
I don't know how good the Toyota ones are but as for the Supercheap ones, they will bend when used in anger.. A few years ago when we didn't know much better we were using a rigid strap to snatch with and managed to bend a Supercheap hook. Quite lucky it bent rather than breaking the bolts holding ...

6.1 would be awesome. Good choice! If you ever want a hand pulling a wrench with the Jimny just let me know!

Re: Rock crawler transfer case
On my Jimny is the standard transfer case with 30's and I'm pretty sure ANYTHING will be an improvement over the standard case. It depends what size tyres you can fit! I've heard that 31's go well and are pretty much as high as most people seem to go.. I've also noticed while reading on the net that ...

Re: jimny lifted springs in lwb vitara
I've got rear lwb vitara springs in the front of my Jimny. They fit in quite well and they lifted the front of the jimny about 1.5". The lwb springs are stiffer so if you fit the jimny springs into the vitara you may get a softer ride and a bit better flex..

Re: Recovery Gear - Auckland
I've had a super cheap snatch strap and tree trunk protector for about a year now and it seems to have lasted well. I just keep them clean and well maintained. I used to work there and the markup on the snatch straps and stuff is actually not that much. Also they are having a sale on 4wd stuff at ...

Re: 91 vs 95
I always thought the RON number is an indication of how much you can compress something before it will combust. So in an engine with high compression you'd need to use a higher octane fuel so to make sure it doesn't knock. Whereas a low compression engine won't compress the air/fuel mixture as much ...

Re: SJ70 vs SJ80
What about a 1998 onwards Jimny? They come up on tardme every now and then quite cheap. (I got mine for 5k) They are coil sprung and a bit more modern than the old sj's. Not as big of an aftermarket compared to the sj's though but still easy to get lift kits etc..

Re: A question for Jimny owners
I have a 98 Jimny and it does not have a neutral position on the transfer case.
You can fit the samurai transfer cases to them pretty easily with a few modifications.

Re: ridge rider winch
I've got one on my Suzuki. It is a Chinese winch so the quality is never going to be great. In saying that though I've never had a problem with it. Before I put it on I pulled it apart and re greased everything so I know it's got quality grease and that everything is put back together nice and ...

I did this seal on a bighorn a few years ago. I'm not sure if they're the same but here's some instructions on how to do it.
http://shazamportal.com/clubisuzu.com/v ... 7f71bbaea4
The seal i used for the bighorn is a TC12447, or 22mm outside diameter, 35mm inside diameter, and 7mm thick.
You can replace the seal without having to take the box out.
