Re: Pintle hook on factory mount
I have a pintle hook on the back of my pajero which has been well and truly tested. No worries for snatch recoveries. There is so much debate about recovery points I reckon its about time there was a standard test. I've had a few discussions with scrutineers about recovery points. Standard hooks it ...

Re: Arc, Mig, Tig or gas?
If you dont do much welding the soda stream bottles are worth a thought. Exchange bottle is $12 and you get about 2 hours welding with one. No test or hire costs. Bottles are cheap on trade me too. Just thought I'd mention it. Works for me.

Hi, looking to get rid of the handbrake drum and fit a caliper with a handbrake built in. Anyone know of a caliper that might fit? Cheers Andy.

Hi, I ordered a pintle hook via this website and paid the $ into the Offroad Express account at the end of August, but have not received it yet. How, or who should I chase it with, Regards Andy.

Do the full results get posted anywhere? I wasn't able to place all the drivers to their trucks when the results were anounced. Be nice to complete the jigsaw, Cheers Andy.

http://youtu.be/CJwTaV6-UyI http://youtu.be/NYhk5dEavk4 No 3 - one of the harder ones. There was a tree stump or something similiar just by your front wheel there as you rolled. Ripped a front tyre off mine being recovered. Luckier than the next one though took the front wheel off the MU. Great day ...

Re: do economical petrol 4x4s exist
Our family car is a 2.7 petrol surf with 3 pedals in the floor. Its a 4 cylinder motor (3RZ I think) and I reckon it gives a decent compromise between power and economy. Costs about $120 to fill up for about 450kms. We had a diesel one before and when you work in the road user costs the petrol is ...

Re: Gen2 Pajero stall converter issues?
I had a similar problem, strong motor with man box but no go at low revs. Mechanic said they're like that, all revs, but gutted the inside out of the cat anyway and it transformed it.

Re: Balancing huge tyres
This looks like an honest trader; m It seems stainless teflon coated ones are the way to go and they recommend 1 oz for every 10/12oz of tyre weight for us off roaders. Can't find out how heavy 34" jungle trekkers are though. Anyone know? After the first bag shipping is only us$2 so it might be ...

Re: tough CVs for Pajeros?
Might be worth a mention, overhauled the passenger side inner cv on my 93 V23 and when sourcing parts from a 91 V23 found the diff input shaft to be about 3mm smaller, although the cv's were the same size. So somewhere between 91 & 93 the diff size changed and the lockers will be different. Cheers ...

Re: WTD: Front and or Rear lokka, air locker?
Remove the rear sway bar to increase articulation if you havn't already. I'd recommend the factory air locker for the rear, but fit all the factory kit inc the control brain. Mines been faultless even with 35" jungle trekkers. 'Lokka' do one for the front. $510 Aussie inc delivery which works to ...

Cool, I've got a similiar critter but with a petrol motor and a few mods! I've taken to whiling away the dark nights in the Ashley river 4wd tracks. Re: clutch issue
Cable or hydraulic? Could be seized slave cylinder or cable. Nip underneath and see if the clutch arm is free. If it is free then it could be that the bolts holding the clutch cover plate have come loose. I'd hope its option 1 or you'll be taking the box out again, and thats never a pleasure, Cheers ...

Hi, just about done all I plan to the pajero so does any one know if there is a vehicle certifier in rangiora or do I have to venture into chch? Recomendations welcome, Mods as below. The rules seem pretty complicated and everyone seems to have different ideas as to what exactly needs certifying but ...
