The alloy is a good choice, it is robust but only a 3rd of the weight of steel. Be carefull if you get marine grade as you have to anneal it before you bend it, but otherwise it is just the same to work with as normal alloy, only stronger and more corrosion resistant. The isuzu mu ones have spring back keepers on them so the rope falling off is not a problem, you can buy spring keepers for most hooks from your local hook and rope specialist. Yeah, thats right, the chassis will sort of belly out on the ground which means i can still get to the hooks, having one on either side is a big advantage too, i have welded on a 12mm plate that is bend along the side of the body mound and back to the chassis on an angle so it acts as a gusset too ...

Where ever you have them. make sure you can get to them when you are stuck up to your bumpers in mud, i have lost count how many times i have gone to pull people out who can't find their hooks, cause they are pointing downwards and are burried into the bank!! Sounds like this person got ripped off!! was the boost controller gold plated or something!! I had similar problems with mine, used to drop down to 12 volts when i turned lights, etc on, was really bad at idel, the vacume pump on the factory 55 amp alternator shat its self so i put a 80 amp bighorn alternator on and i have got plenty of power now!! heaps to run all my lights, winch, etc ...

A friend of mine has this system and he just has a filter which is cheap as on the inlet of the unit, and a pressure regulating release valve on the other and has that set to 120 psi.
