Re: 1GR-FE VS 5Z-FE
Hey man. I have a 1GR-FE in my FJ, as far as fuel consumption goes i get abou12.4-13.6/100 on the highway. My old diesel isuzu wizard got about 11.4-12 and i considered that to be economical. Depends what the application is and how you drive it.

Re: good first 4x4
There are a lot of options people have said here. I would pay attention to one's who have been on the forum the longest as they probably know a thing or two I will plus one the Isuzu range but that is purely biased, but both the mu wizard and bighorn from th 96-98 era both are quite reliable given ...

Oh crack up. I have toured south island with 1 other and sleept in the back. Works well and im 6ft 1. If you ever need to know anything about that thing. Let me know as I know that truck inside and out. I would replace the front bumper asap and deal with the rust in the front of the chassis too. I ...

Re: Toughening up Terrano WD21 Front End
[quote="lax2wlg"]Ok some interesting notes on front diff setup. I've set it up using 4.875 gears from the C200 rear diff & C200 LSD. To install the 4.8 pinion I used the sleeve from the R200A front pinion then got a small depth spacer machined. This allowed me to get the mesh pattern within factory ...

looks like the diesel one has been cut, sleeved, and re-welded a bit longer with slightly bigger pipe. have seen this done on panhard rods and trailing arms, but not drive shafts

Re: bighorn vs mu for towing
I don't know about petrol bighorns, but depends on how much cooling you have on your engine too. Say a bighorn has the 3.1 and is intercooled, keeping the head a bit cooler And having a bit better combustion in the chambers, looking at things like oil cooler and trans cool as well if its a auto. The ...

Whole process very easy, i used the existing gasket from the plate on my gearbox and had to use washers and random cylinder shaped bits to space the bolts as i didn't have the original bolts, just takes time

Should be ok man, its likely its been there scince your last wof, and just never noticed it. Your main chassis Rails wont be bent and thats what they'll be looking for, sway bar mounts aren't structual.

Re: 1993 bighorn engine swap
the bighorns have 4.3 diff ratios. but can easily get a 4.55 diff from other model bighorns, then you could put a prado front diff in which from memory is a 4.5 diff ratio
