Tyres for '95 LWB Vit

Hey all, I recently bought a 2.0l V6 Vitara 5 door and am looking to upgrade tyres. I plan on getting 50mm lift springs first then upgrading the tyres. I'm having a little trouble finding tyre choices for the 16" Rims Reading Auszookers forums, they tend to recommend 225/75r16 as being the biggest ...

Re: engine cutting out

How much did the coil cost you? Did you go new?

I've been fighting a similar problem, real bad misfire when flooring it goes alright over 3k rpm.
New plugs fix it for a while but then craps out after a while, I wonder if its weak spark

Re: Suzukis and Rivers - waterproofing

Got some denso tape and silicon spray today, that denso stuff is the shit worked real well for covering plugs etc. Got a heavy PVC glove and zip tied it over the dizzy with the leads going thru the fingers - no water getting in there. I put denso around the leads into the coil pack, MAF plug, fuse ...

Cheers guys, good to know you've had them underwater. I wouldn't be game to do it without a second truck but I want to seal it up as well as I can. Suzukis and Rivers - waterproofing

Hey guys, Just got back from a trip up the Rangitata/Hopkins. Went up Saturday morning with intentions of driving up to the Growler hut but came to a fairly deep and swift braid I wasn't too keen to try cross in the Zook. I have a snorkel but I was worried about the electrics as I've experienced ...

Question for those running 31's & FTS lift opinion

Hey guys, I'm looking to do a bit of work on my SWB Escudo, snorkel, lift and maybe tyres. Just wondering what you guys think of 31's for those who have them? I've been told that even with a 3 inch suspension lift they rub badly when turning, they make it harder to drive without stalling and remove ...

Thinking of buying a V6 4 door

Hey guys I'm thinking of upgrading to a new truck in the next few months. I need more space for my work gear so I want to get a 4 door, probably around 1995 model. Do the V6 motors go all good and without too many issues? My first thought is that I'd like to have a little more grunt than the 1600. I ...

Re: Wilberforce Track

Cheers guys very helpful I probably wouldn't drive up too much further than the Fanghill hut if it was too tricky, the Moa valley looks like a good place to walk the rifle but would mean crossing the river preferably. Wilberforce Track

Hey guys, Just wondering what the track through Glenthorne station up into the Wilberforce valley is like? What spacers did you get and did they sort that wee bit of rub in the front out? Did you drop diffs or need to extend anything?

I'd like to do the same on mine one day

I got my head back finally! I want to give a thumbs up to Flemings Cylinder Heads in CHCH, no fault of his own it took a long time (more to do with me faffing around looking for parts). Deeper ruts = bigger tires for diff clearance.

There are a few threads on here about lifting for cheap and what size tires you can fit, look for cheap vitara lift thread

Has anyone found seats which can easily be fitted into an Escudo?
I find the stock seats bloody uncomfortable on long trips - something with a bit of support down the sides might be nicer offroad too

Re: EGR Cleaning

Job's been done for me

Left it soaking tonight in degreaser and I'll see how it is tomorrow, seems to be clearing out a bit of the crap.
I may go down to Mitre 10 and see if I can find one of those metal ribbon drain clearers, should be flexible enough to do the job

Re: EGR Cleaning

I may try give it a soak in petrol - will degreaser work too or is petrol better?

If all fails it can just stay like that, though I would like to get it working properly if possible.
