hubs

Bought some Nissan 16x6 6 stud rims & tyres for a trailer project. Now I need axle & hubs. Does anyone have anything that might be suitable for a trailer application?

cheers

no offence, but I somehow expected it to be cheaper than that. I may have to rethink my plans. This is just a hobby trailer for me and thus has to be low cost.

Wanted - 2 x 1997 Prado Alloys 6 stud 16x7's

Just interested in the rims. They don't have to be clean or shiney. Just sound and free of cracks.

For an off-road trailer project. I thought it would be cool to match the rims to the Prado if I can.

cheers.

fuel

I have a petrol Prado, so probably not required. I know the ol' 2 stroke outboard gets a huge amount of carbon build up, but everynow & then I run Yamaha Ring Free through it and you can see the lumps of carbon in the water as it clears the system. If you have no luck with long range tanks, try an ...

tanks

Sorry, can't really help with the tank section other than suggest maybe a marine shop, the fabricate boat fuel tanks?

What I'm interested in is the carbon clean. How? was it simply an additive or a complete take apart & scrape out? Petrol or diesel?

Sims Road

Went and had a look at Sims Road today (live in Pukekohe). It's definately closed. The road end from the Drury / Pukekohe road has a locked gate. The other end from Cape Hill Road is also closed. Big signs at both ends stating that the bridge is closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Most outboard motors have an hour meter fitted - try a marine shop, or even an outboard wreckers.

Cruise Control

I miss Cruise Control (saves speeding tickets) and my 1997 petrol Prado doesn't have it.

Any ideas if you can get aftermarket Cruise Control in NZ, where? how much? etc

cheers

Would love too, but kids sport, school holidays etc muck it all up.

Was in Pureora North Block (Ngaroma) for the roar. It's reasonably well mapped, a few good tracks that shouldn't be too much trouble.

Neighbour has a Terrano and he runs 31 x 12.5 x 15 Hankook's with no rubbing. It's stock standard, no lift . . . . yet.

This is also a good site for comparing Tyre sizes.

It's definatley not a tie down hook, there's two of those under the front. The tow hook is bolted to the same place, faces downward, drivers side, but no keeper.

Same, there are no dumb questions, i.e. you don't learn if you don't ask. I have the hook, just got to drill a couple of 12 mm holes and I'll be set. Can only fit one at this time as the exhaust is to close on the other side. Also got to move the wiring plug as the towbar installer fitted it to the ...

Mmmm. Bolt holes could be 40mm, I'd have to measure tonite. Towbar assembly is substantial, rated for 3500kg. 3 bolts each side holding the towbar frame onto the chassis. square tube, angle braced back to chassis plates, large triangular frame down to towbar tongue. So, it would be OK to bolt a tow ...

Thanks for that, but I want to keep the towball and fit a hook.

Is that possible and where to put the hook.

I tow a boat regularly.

Tow Hooks

Morning, just picked up a '97 Prado yesterday. It has a factory tow hook on the front and I got a rather substantial tow bar fitted to the rear. My question is, where do you fit the rear tow hook? I know that you're not supoosed to use the towbar for snatch recoveries. Any pictures would help. Thanks
