Re: Torsion bar locking clips are a b*stard
This reminds me that I need to put them back in. I had a go without any tools but they defeated me. They are definitely b*stards.

Re: $1000 for a TD27eti AFM?
Thanks, just gave them a call - $120-$160 for repair if damaged, or just $30-$40 if not (a checking/cleaning fee). Would have been an even cheaper price if I had a trade account lol Far far cheaper than any other option. Cheers for that. I just rang the main call center for Repco armed with more ...

$1000 for a new AFM?
I've just been into Repco and got a quote for a replacement AFM for my Terrano... "About $1000." Something must be wrong here. We went out to the truck and I showed him the bit I want, and after 10 minutes of phone calls and thumbing through booklets, he's firm that the price is right. But how can ...

Re: Mistral TD27eti temp gauge (pic inside)
Thanks for that. What would you consider "ages to get up to temp"?
Without timing it, I think it's around 5 minutes

Terrano TD27eti temp gauge (pic inside)
Hi, this has been on my mind for a while.
The temp gauge of my truck never makes it past 1/4. Is this normal for these engines/model of truck?
Cheers

Re: Thirsty TD27T
That's the same, if not better than mine. 40L gets me around 300km. There's a 5km stretch of steep uphill on my 13km drive home though, and about the same on the way too work as well (Dunedin CBD to Mosgiel via Wakiri/3 mile hill for any Dunedinites out there). Most of my driving it too and from work.

Not sure sorry man. Have a look around on this website too. There's a dedicated Maverick/Terrano II forum. You may have to sign up.

Re: Nissan Mistral help wanted- desperately!!!!
My truck's electrics are retarded too. My interior lights don't work and switching them on causes the red "door open" dash light to come on for some reason. There is an audible clicking sound from under the dash when it happens. Must remember to take a look one day.

Re: Torsion bar locking clips are a b*stard
Cheers guys,
Yeah managed to get both clips out eventually. I used two size 14 spanners and pried each side up at the same time. They do fly off quite forcefully!
It sounds like I'd better put them back in. Damn it

Re: Torsion bar locking clips are a b*stard
Haha not really a lot of movement, maybe 5 mm or so. And yes heavy! Especially when you're under the car propping up one end of the bar on your elbow while frantically wrestling to remove a tiny clip with a couple of spanners. You can understand why I don't want to get back under there

Torsion bar locking clips are a b*stard
Hi guys, Firstly, thanks to the information provided on this site I was able to re-index the torsion bars on my truck this weekend and even out the ride height. If not for this site I never would have known it was possible. Cheers for that! However, while toiling away under the truck I found that ...

2.7 fuel economy
Hi all, Just wondering what kind of economy those of you with a 2.7 are getting. Recently my truck got about 7-8 km/l (~14 l/100km) with a mixture of open road and town, and a generally sedate driving style. This seems pretty uneconomical, but it's my first diesel so i'm not sure. If this is really ...

Re: Trans Auto doesn't like OD in the cold
Mine was keeping me out of top gear the entire way to Mosgiel from Dunedin each morning (about 15 minutes of open road driving). Quite aggressive shifting too, very jerky.
I should add that mine was driving like it was stuck in a lower gear. I know all about the 'hold' switch too haha

Re: Re:
I talked to a good diesel mechanic up here and he took it for a spin, also shuddered worse/better depending on throttle position too, (kinda felt like it was bunny hopping) It looked easy enough to do, but i wasnt sure if there where hiding springs behind the part. Got the pro's to do it Sweet it ...

Re: TD27eti missing at ~2000rpm
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Any fault codes? ETi pumps give bit of problem from time to time. Because the missing is only at moderate engine speed with good power both above and below the revs, i would suspect the pump or injectors or if you are lucky the egr valve is gummed up. Best advice ...

Re: TD27eti missing at ~2000rpm
Thanks for the reply. Don't glow plugs effectively switch off once the engine temp is up and able to ignite the diesel? It still surges when it reaches it's normal operating temp.

Terrano missing at ~2000rpm
Hi guys, being a newbie to diesels I'm really hoping someone can shed some light on a problem that my truck is having. It is shuddering a bit. At higher revs it's fine, and seems smooth and powerful enough at lower revs. I've checked the banjo filter and unless i somehow missed it, it's not there. I ...
